Customer Review Summary
Friendly staff are the most common thread, with reviewers describing welcoming, bubbly servers, a helpful man serving tables, and a lively bar worker. One party thanked the ladies who helped carry a heavy cake at a 60th birthday meal. Food draws a split response. Praise goes to a steak Americano cooked as requested, a mixed grill with no complaints, an outstanding gravy and a delicious dessert. Others were let down. Another mixed grill arrived with overcooked chicken, a steak ordered rare came out well done, and the onion ring was soft. A Sunday roast of three sausages, boiled broccoli and a few carrots was called the worst meal one reviewer had eaten, and the lunchtime hunters chicken came as a very small piece of breast. One table waited a long time for food that arrived warm rather than hot, and another noted nobody checked on them during the meal. Several mention the view over the docks, with one couple watching the sunset from the rear garden after dinner.

“Dave made our experience here without a doubt! He really made us feel welcome and looked after us, even though he’s only here for a few days, we are forever greatful for a delicious meal and friendly service we received! We will be sure to visit your pub one day to see you soon Dave!!”

“A nice looking pub in a good location, it was fairly quiet on my visit, the staff were friendly and not overbearing. I ordered a Steak Americano, this was cooked as requested and was pretty tasty. I had a voucher which gave me 40% off, @ full price it might have been a touch pricey for the experience. Overall though worth a visit if you are in the area.”

“Arrived late and staff were super friendly and food order was dealt with swiftly. Arrived at table presented to appeal to the eyes. Tasted divine and gravy was outstanding, desert was delicious and disappeared just as fast as dinner. Highly recommend and priced below what I was expecting, lovely place will definitely definitely return if I'm in the area again. What a treasure.”

“Arrived and seated table for 2, wasn't busy steady flow of people ordered at the bar, waited 30 minutes for food. After 25 minutes asked a worker can they check how long our order will be. Our food was brought out warm not hot but couldn't be bothered complaining just wanted to eat and get out of there. Atmosphere was boring and the toilet lobby stinks.”

“Myself and a few friends had lunch there today, we all ordered the same from the lunchtime section on the menu. The hunters chicken for about £9.99, described a chicken breast with cheese and sauce with chips and salad. When I was served mine I thought they was playing a practical joke..the chicken breast was about and 1 inch x 1 inch in size. My friends all had a slightly bigger portion of chicken breast….not much bigger though. When I saw a member of staff I said “couldn’t they have found a smaller piece” …I don’t think she was amused. Her reply was…it’s off the lunchtime menu, that’s why it’s a smaller portion. Now….i know I was only spending £10 of my massive wealth but I don’t think I will be spending anymore of my money with them soon. To end on a positive my single mouthful of Hunters chicken did taste good….shame there wasn’t a couple mouthfuls to be had. I wish I had taken a photo…. And I added a tip when paying for it….what a sucker I was! 😂”
