Customer Review Summary
Breakfast and brunch dishes draw the most comment here, and opinion splits. Praise goes to sausage, bacon and eggs made with excellent produce, a Club Breakfast, and French toast. A Sunday brunch visitor found the food plentiful and full of flavour, and says to book because it gets busy. The monthly roast club earns separate credit for porchetta, smoked lamb and a cauliflower cheese with a thick sauce and crunchy topping. Complaints centre on execution and value. One diner found the creamy sauce on the Wild n Waffle had split and the mushrooms were plain white ones, while the Turkish eggs lacked the expected chilli and had little yoghurt, and the flat white tasted watered down. Another says a pint costs noticeably more than at the hotel across the road. One reviewer describes a waitress who offered no greeting or eye contact, though others call the staff friendly and helpful. The function room, with its sofas, stage and big dance floor, is repeatedly called ideal for parties, and one birthday guest praises the efficient bar staff.

“First time this year to frequent this place. It was nice, the staff friendly, but comparing prices for a pint it is over £3 per pint more expensive than just across the road at the hotel in the high street. Maybe will get more customers if pricing was more competitive.”

“We had a cooked breakfast and French toast. The food was tasty. The 'lady' that 'served' us was the most miserable waitress I've ever had. She had blond hair if that helps, made no eye contact at all, no hello how are you nothing. Looked completely fed up the entire time. We paid at the bar and she'd disappeared before we'd tapped the machine. The other two younger ladies were doing much better! I work in customer service and would be pulled up for that behaviour. Either smile, be friendly and do better or get another job!”

“The wife and I attended a 50th Birthday here, the staff were very efficient behind the bar and the space was very good indeed for such a celebration. There is plenty of parking, access is easy for wheelchairs and pushchairs alike. We were situated in a large hall area with a stage, bar, toilets, sofas and large dancing area. There is free WiFi, there was also another unused bar area. If you have need of that I imagine you could hire both parts. We had a fantastic night in a great venue, based on my visit I would recommend this as a venue for your party or group gathering.”

“Had a delicious roast dinner from their monthly roast club. Porchetta and smoked lamb both excellent, all the vegetables very nicely cooked, star of the show was the cauliflower cheese. Nice cooked, thick sauce, nice crunchy topping. Definitely going back!”

“Thoughtfully made, beautifully presented and delightfully tasting food! So much to choose from on the menu, it was hard to select an option as everything looked delectable!”
