Dobbies Restaurant & Cafe is an English restaurant inside the Dobbies Garden Centre in Cirencester. The menu includes a traditional English breakfast, and Sunday lunch is a roast dinner with a Yorkshire pudding. Customer Review Summary

Sunday lunch is what reviewers raise most, with the roast praised for its generous plate of meat and veg, a huge Yorkshire pudding and delicious turkey, and one reviewer liking that diners are asked about allergies before ordering. Close behind are the traditional English breakfast, described as a great portion for the cost, and the cakes and coffee, including a vanilla slice one reviewer called one of the best they had tasted. Others mention an Angus beef burger and a toasted tea cake with a cup of tea. Staff are often called friendly, and the garden centre and kids' play area get a nod. Complaints centre on waits to be served, with one reviewer putting it around ten minutes, and on a few misses. One end-of-lunch visit brought a cheese-soaked toastie and lukewarm chips, and diners had to fetch their own cutlery. Another found the food average and pricey, noted that coffee and walnut cake and the vegetarian Moroccan stew had run out, and was bothered by furniture scraping on the floor. One reviewer found the cafe layout confusing, with pot plants blocking walkways, and a birthday cake treat came with free drinks.

“Went for Sunday lunch. Ok roast dinner, turkey was delicious. Good selection on the menu although they'd run out of coffee and walnut cake and the vegetarian, Moroccan stew. Friendly staff. Wasn't impressed by the loud, scrapping of furniture across the floor next to us while we were trying to have a conversation.”

“Popped in for breakfast after a stroll around South Cerney lake with the dog. Staff were very attentive and friendly when showing us to a table. Placed our order and it was at our table in a few minutes. Good choice and excellent value.”

“Staff were very good and the food was nice. Layout of the restaurant vs the coffee shop is a bit confusing with pot plants blocking walkways etc. All in a good experience and felt we could enjoy our lunch without any stress.”

“A very disappointing experience. It was the end of lunchtime and it seemed like the staff couldn’t be bothered anymore. The food was poor: a toastie swimming in melted cheese, lukewarm chips that had clearly been sitting around for hours, a chicken breast dumped in a bun with fatty bacon, a boring salad with no dressing. We had to get our own cutlery and seek out someone to pay. We gave this negative feedback and the staff member was apologetic and said she would report it. She didn’t look very surprised! I won’t be going back and will stick to the cafe for coffee and cake in future.”
