About The Moonrakers & Crossways Suite Function Room
The Moonrakers & Crossways Suite Function Room sits on Cricklade Road in Swindon, combining a restaurant with a function room that hosts wedding receptions and private parties. The events side centres on the Crossways Suite, a spacious room used for line dancing and other group bookings, with a buffet option laid on for parties and celebrations. Downstairs, the restaurant serves light food alongside Sunday roasts, and live music runs on Sundays to round out the day. Walk-ins are welcome at the restaurant, and the suite takes group bookings for functions and events. The format suits anyone planning a reception or a night out, and the Sunday programme brings the two sides of the venue together.

“Sunday roast the best definitely be going back”

“We had our wedding reception in the moonrakers pub function room on the 18th july 2026. What started off as a lovely night ended badly. Around 10pm my mum left with my children. Myself and my husband went into the carpark to say goodbye to them. During this time, the DJ Peter Brown decides to tell the guests that are left that the next song will be the final song and then everyone had to leave. I went back in around 10-20 minutes after, the music had stopped, the lights were on. Paula and her staff were stripping the tables and chairs. Paula came out to say there was a misunderstanding and Peter was only annoucing that it was everyone's last chance for the photobooth. (This was a lie - the photobooth was pretty much completely packed up before I even left the room to say goodbye to my children!) If it was a misunderstanding - why had the music stopped? Why was Paula stripping the chairs? Upon booking we were told we had the room until Midnight. So I paid £850 for the pleasure of the function room until Midnight - but this wasn't the case. I wouldn't recommend holding weddings, birthdays or any kind of party in their function room unless you want to be left disappointed.”

“An absolute perfect venue for party’s, celebrations etc. Paula supported us throughout and the venue and staff were so good and always on hand. The buffet was excellent. Would highly recommend.”

“Excellent pub with a very family friendly atmosphere. We come down on Sundays for the live music and (very reasonably priced) light grub. Beers are what they are - Voyager isn't half bad (that's the beer snob in me talking) but the atmosphere on Sundays is what we keep coming back for. The people are warm and the beers, ice cold.”
