About Project Coffee

Project Coffee is a coffee shop in Tadpole Garden Village, Swindon, on Unit 5 Maizey Rd. Two friends founded it in 2020, and the drinks list includes beetroot and turmeric lattes alongside iced teas and coffees, smoothies, milkshakes, hot chocolate and seasonal flavours. Every drink is made to order, and the beans come from several countries, including Melbourne, Australia. The food side covers cakes, sandwiches, wraps, salads and breakfast options, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, and a churro doughnut is served alongside coffee. Inside, a sofa area sits next to stools and high tables. Dogs are welcome, and parking is available in front of the arches.

Customer Review Summary

Sausage rolls are the clear draw, with reviewers praising the variety, a pork and caramelised onion version, and a spicy one called unique. Close behind are the drinks, including beetroot and turmeric lattes, a hot chocolate one visitor rated highly, and a coffee paired with a churro doughnut, alongside cakes. Reviewers describe a cozy, trendy space with comfy seats inside and out, a garden where one brought their dog, and friendly, fast service even when packed. The caveats are practical. One regular found the fifth anniversary Sunday, with its later opening and large crowd, made a quick coffee impossible and went to a competitor. Another says a powered chair cannot get over the door threshold to the garden, finds the sofa area awkward for pushchairs, and calls the to-go lunches and grazing boxes pricey. Even so, one reviewer recalls staff bringing an extra plate and cutlery for a shared sausage roll before anyone asked.

“Great flavour coffee, savourys and cake are reasonably priced however, the to go lunches and grazing boxes are definitely aimed at a certain audience and pricey Generally a nice coffee venue but there are others near with better accessibility and not so many stools and high tables, If you are in a powered chair you cannot get over the door threshold to get outside in the coffee garden. Its great to see young parents using the cafe, however, I feel the sofa area could be better laid out to maximise usable space so they do not feel thier pushchairs are getting in the way or feeling they have to move them regularly out of the way of other patrons. If there were stars for accessibility, I would rate this cafe a 2.”

“Took a foodie friend of mine there yesterday. She absolutely loved it, blown away with the range of interesting food options. We shared sausage rolls which are out of this world, full of flavour and then we dived into the cakes. The real highlight were the 2 lattes - beetroot and a turmeric one👌really amazing. What a great find in a part of town I wouldn’t normally go to, but believe me it’s worth making the detour. And to top it all lovely staff, all knowledgeable and delivering exceptional service. Whole experience was 100%. Ps loos spotless!”

“Always love coming in here with the delicious coffees!! Sunday for 5th Anniversary day was amazing! So much on with free Prosecco, free pizzas and free face painting for the kids! Even though it was super busy the staff were amazing serving drinks and clearing tables all while still being so friendly and smiley 🤠”

“Cute Coffee spot.. Great interior/exterior design, comfy seats inside & out in the lil garden area.. Coffee was good, Food tried was good & the service was friendly & fast. Garden definitely wasn't expecting but what a nice little spot to chill & chinwag for a bit on a nice day 😎”

“We love coming to Project Coffee and it’s part of our regular Sunday morning routine. However, I wanted to share a bit of feedback about the 5th birthday event held on Sunday 9/8 morning. I’m glad the shop is celebrating such a milestone, but the later opening time and the large crowd made it difficult for regular customers to pop in for their usual coffee. A Sunday morning is a busy time for many of us, so holding the celebration later in the day might have avoided disrupting normal service. I hope future events can strike a balance between celebrating and keeping things running smoothly for everyone. I know it was well publicised but perhaps a disclaimer of ‘avoid if you just want a coffee’ might have been helpful. As it was we left and went to one of your competitors.”
