Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific. Two reviewers found the coffee weak or low quality, one comparing an americano to murky water. Food drew criticism too: a tuna melt with rock-hard bread and a vinegary filling, a cake that was rock hard and very sweet, and an almond croissant that arrived cold and soggy after being promised heated. Two note there is no toilet, and one says a staff member offered no help and was on her phone. One reviewer arrived expecting waffles listed online and found none.

“A great place to get really good coffee from at 8am in the morning, which is brilliant! The staff are always so friendly, helpful and prepared to have a chat! Well done Ann, Lydia, Mollie and Summer, good work!”

“Their coffee was delicious I really enjoyed eating the almond croissant alongside it. And their sandwiches are all quite tasty and available to go too which is a nice bonus.”

“Dropped in on our way out of town. Had us two good flat whites and a warm cinnamon bun and a cookie. Sat out front and watched the world go by.”

“We were looking for somewhere open in the week between Christmas and New Year after a walk round the Lawns. Found Mabel’s. Had to sit outside as inside was full so a bit cold but lovely coffee and the best almond croissant I have tasted so it was worth it. Also friendly service so I would recommend Mabel’s.”

“I came here because on google maps it says they have waffles, went in to realise there were no waffles. We were completely lied to. The food was mediocre at best. We had the almond croissant and the cinnamon bun. They said they would heat it up but when biting into it, it was completely cold and soggy. The cinnamon bun was the worst I’ve ever had, the coffee was bad too, it felt very low quality and we didn’t finish it. The only good thing was the drinks that came in a bottle so they didn’t even make it. There’s also no toilet. There was no place to park but we managed to find a coop car park nearby. It is dog friendly which is good. Won’t be coming here again, too expensive for the quality.”
