Customer Review Summary
The cooked breakfast draws the most comment, and opinion on it splits. One diner calls the huge breakfast beautifully cooked with lovely sausages, another found the all day breakfast big enough for two, and a bacon roll is described as fresh. One reviewer was disappointed, finding the sausages too meaty, the eggs oily and tasteless and the hash browns salty, and felt it let them down for the price. Close behind are the lunches. The ham, cheese, mustard and mayo sandwich on brown bread is called outstanding, the soups impress a pair of long-standing regulars, and the cheese and mushroom three egg omelette is called delicious. Staff are described as friendly and helpful throughout, and the cafe gets busy at lunchtimes with workers from the offices above. Several enjoy sitting out back by the water watching swans, and one adds that it is a good choice for gluten free. Reviewers mention plates arriving hot and items on the breakfast being swapped without any trouble.

“Excellent food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for families, meeting friends for coffee, or having a business conversation by the water. Definitely worth a visit.”

“I've been going to Nexus with my friend for a few years now. We have always enjoyed all the lunches we have ordered. We are very impressed with the soups. Today and a couple of weeks ago we had the cheese and mushrooms 3 egg omelette. It was delicious and we will definitely be having it again. We have a hard job choosing what to have as it all looks so good. All the staff are very friendly too. Very satisfied customers Jenny and Chris”

“I work on Cheney Manor at Dynamatic. Every now and again I treat myself with a visit to Cafe Nexus. The sandwiches are outstanding! Today I went for Ham Cheese Mustard and Mayo on Brown bread. Bloody lovely! The flavour from the mustard and the slight heat balanced out with the mayo. Best sandwich for a long time. The service is always great and friendly. On the odd occasion I’ve sat out back for lunch next to the water. Great food, great service in a great environment. Thank you!”

“Popped in as my car was having work done and had some time to kill. Really impressed with everything, the coffee was perfect, bacon roll was fresh and couldn’t fit anymore in. Staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable.”
