Customer Review Summary

Friendly staff come up in most reviews, from a manager clearing plates and fetching missing cutlery to servers who keep a busy service moving quickly. Coffee and breakfast anchor the visits: an Americano with a plain croissant offered with butter, a blueberry matcha latte with a pastry, and an all-day breakfast where swapping items was allowed. Others describe the English breakfast and lunch plates as well portioned and flavourful, with plenty of variety in food and drinks. Reviewers call the mood relaxed and cozy, with 80s and 90s music and a selection of books. One regular treats the upstairs as a quiet, peaceful office extension in the mornings, while another says it isn't a quiet place. One reviewer felt misled over a breakfast bap, saying every filling beyond the first was charged separately for sausage, egg, hash, bacon and mushrooms, and called the bap disappointing. Another diner, told after paying that an item was unavailable, was allowed to choose a more expensive meal without paying the difference.

“Food was ok, no problem with it but, the tea cups very dirty. If someone from staff or administration sees this review, please consider to proper clean the china's or change them with new ones or make sure the washing machine has the right amount of salt. There are residues there that can go from one person to another and I consider this is a major health and safety issue.”

“Good food and helpful staff, also very high standard of cleanliness, Items ordered were unavailable after I paid, so was allowed to choose another meal which cost more without paid the difference. This was my first visit here and will come back in the future when in the town centre.”
  • Dave Franklin
“I use the upstairs as an extension of my office, in the mornings it is a quiet, peaceful and air conditioned space in which to sit and work. The food and drinks are well priced and a great selection and the staff lovely.”
  • Lina Monica Ali
“Rustic and with history dated back to 1972. The food was well portioned. Lots of varieties for both food and drinks. The foods were well prepared and flavourful. The staff friendly too, adding to the old school vibe.”
  • Lana
“This couple—a blueberry matcha latte and a pastry—absolutely made my morning! It was definitely more of a brunch than a breakfast, and mostly for my mental health rather than my physical health. Boswells Cafe is one of the best places in the Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon to enjoy good coffee. It has two floors, plenty of space, and a friendly, quick staff. While it isn't a quiet place, it is a great spot to grab a drink with a friend or even go on a first date. The atmosphere is clean and cozy. Highly recommended”
