Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff, with table service praised repeatedly and one server described as a fantastic host during a bottomless brunch. The all-day brunch and all-day breakfast come up several times, and diners also mention a good lunch, a gluten-free guest accommodated perfectly, and a good draught beer selection, with pints of Cruzcampo noted for their price. One reviewer says staff provided food even though the kitchen was closing, and another says a mix-up with a table booking through the new online system was promptly sorted. Overnight guests call the rooms brilliant and cosy, and housekeeping lovely, but the criticisms are concrete. The hotel breakfast is called uninspiring or ok ish, with a buffet that looked tired and had run out of juice, bread and fruit until staff refreshed it. One stay had very hot rooms with windows that barely open and a dusty fan, and one guest was charged extra for two small dogs on arrival. Several mention the dog-friendly setting and the park next door, and one reviewer upgraded to a nicer room after a booking was changed following a car accident.

“Oldy pub, with rooms. Plus points, good for dogs, park next door. Staff friendly. Can get a good meal there, but also close to many other restaurants. Free parking, is limited but not had a problem so far, second stay. Housekeeping amazing , lovely ladies. Breakfast is ok ish. Minus Very very hot rooms in high temperature and windows don't open or only open a fraction. Fan provided (but was pretty rank covered in dust and stuff! ) They charged extra for my two tiny dogs on arrival 😟”

“Arrived on a sunny day, atmosphere and interior is so warm and welcoming! It’s my first time here and I came in alone for a meal and a nice coffee. Exceptional service as soon as I entered, I was particularly served by Lucy and also had a lovely chat with Will and Harry. They took great care of me and ensured my order was delivered quickly too! Food and coffee is tasty, I ordered the all-day breakfast and an iced coffee. The music also adds a nice soft touch to the atmosphere! I’ll definitely be back. Thank you!! 🤍”

“Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again! 🤩 From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. I’d especially like to recognise Will, who had already changed my booking following a car accident, which was greatly appreciated. Will also gave me a nicer room due to limited guests and was simply helpful and kind on every interaction we had. An outstanding representative of the venue. Room was brilliant and cosy with all the best and latest facilities. Loved the Nespresso machine! My only criticism would be the uninspiring breakfast… 4/10 Not the best quality and general buffet area looked a little tired by the time I came down. Next time I’ll be sure to head down earlier. Juices had been used up and most of the bread and fruit etc was gone. Just a quick refresh by staff sorted this to a satisfactory level, and I was grateful 🙏”

“What a beautiful hotel, lovely location, I even had a day in Bath too as it was so close to the station! Aleesha made our stay, she was always polite and so helpful and served with a smile. That kindness goes a long way and me and my partner both said how welcoming she is, thank you!”
