About Mackenzies Bar & Kitchen
Mackenzies Bar & Kitchen sits on Wood Street in Swindon's Old Town, working as a bar and kitchen built around made-to-order cocktails and mocktails alongside a bottomless brunch that brings drinks and food together in one sitting. The room also shows live sports, with tables reserved in advance for big matches, and a step leads up into the main bar area. At the back, a separate private dining room hosts private parties, giving the venue a flexible setup for group bookings. Dogs are welcome in the space. The format carries through from daytime brunch service into evening drinks, with the bar taking centre stage across the day.

“Brilliant place for all types of occasions. Atmosphere and staff are amazing. Pricing is reasonable too compared to other places in old town.”

“The waitress with the brown hair working today at lunch was the most miserable and grumpy lady we have ever been served by! Talk about rude! She slammed our drinks down on the table both times we ordered without a smile or a thank you. We came out to celebrate my partners birthday, we were going to stay for multiple drinks and food but after the second round we decided against ordering food and left. Disgraceful service!!”

“Now I don’t normally write a review for anything as were in 2026 and nobody is allowed an opinion for anything but I have to write this one as it was shocking. I’ve had 2 bad experiences here and I won’t be coming back again because of it. The first bad experience I had was that me and my partner had to wait over an hour tops for food which never came because apparently our ticket never came through until breakfast was finished with, our drinks came after an hour and a bit and they weren’t good, I had a milkshake my boyfriend had an orange juice and the milkshake tasted like it had been watered down with a bit of banana nesquick to it and the orange juice tasted like it was watered down as well. After that we decided to walk out and just leave as we never got our food and our drinks were horrible but we did get a full refund which is alright I guess. The second bad experience happened today 16th of august 2026 Sunday, I had to desperately use the toilet and this was the only closest range toilet for me to use so I didn’t have a choice, now I’m not gonna mention names or a person description but if you are puking at work you should not be there you should be at home. Somebody like me who has a really bad case of emetaphobia boxed into a small toilet room with small toilets listening to someone puking next to you was incredibly problematic for me because of the fear I have. Now I don’t know why they were could have been for a number of reasons but I didn’t have the best of times. I came out shaking really badly crying my eyes out couldn’t really breathe and I ran outside. Again I have a massive phobia with sick anything to do with it. But if you aren’t well or are throwing up doesn’t matter you should NOT be at work.”

“Walked in and was immediately welcomed by Sofhia and David who were super friendly and made me and my friend feel very welcome. They made us some amazing cocktails and mocktails that were delicious. Was a great experience to have friendly, warm, welcoming and fun staff behind the bar so we will definitely be back very soon! Thank you Sofhia and David for a great night!”
