“My husband and I arrived at the restaurant at around 915 on a Saturday night.The staff were not particularly welcoming I must say,even the manager gave us a funny look. My husband got a vegetable dansak as he is wary of overcooked chicken which has unfortunately happened here in the past.I got a chicken Rogan,we both got different rice ie vegetable and mushroom.My husband thought his vegetable curry was lovely with so much flavour.Unfortunately the chicken in my Rogan was probably the driest I have had in years,the curry flavour was wonderful though The rice was fine on both dishes.Portion size was very good as was the very reasonable bill. Lots to like here but I feel it could be better”

“The service was great, very friendly staff. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Worst "indian" food I've had in a curry house. I had the Vegan Thali, partner had the Vegetable Sally. All dishes were very bland, not a spice in sight. With so many 5 star reviews, we were very confused. I understand that many curry houses adapt their food for the Western palette but this was going to the extreme. I'd recommend other curry houses in Sunderland, which is such a shame.”

“This restaurant is outstanding. The food is simply delicious. I’m staying at the Clarion hotel which is a ten minute drive away. My meal, 2 popadoms with chutney tray, paneer vindaloo ( not on the menu) with cashews pilau rice and garlic naan. Finally a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 😋 No alcohol so J2O Apple and mango. 🥭 I’m vegetarian.”
