About The Lamb and Flag
The Lamb and Flag, a village pub on Main Rd in Stafford, puts homemade pizzas on the menu every Thursday alongside a full food offering that runs from breakfast through a lunch and snack menu to burgers and cobs. The two sons of the previous landlady have taken on the pub and recently renovated and restored it, running it in her memory. Traditional decor carries through the main room, where an open fire and a screen sit alongside a separate games room. Dogs come in and get treats, and children are welcome as well. Outdoor seating gives the option of eating and drinking outside in warmer weather. A quiz night runs for regulars looking for something beyond a quiet drink. The pub opens daily and works on a walk-in basis, so no booking is needed. Note that the toilets are located upstairs, and the pub sits on a busy road through the village.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming bar staff and locals, with one describing a chatty bartender who shared stories of the pub being haunted. Homemade pizzas on a Thursday come close behind and are called delicious. Others mention a burger meal, cobs, and a breakfast, lunch and snack menu that has visitors wanting to return. The pub is described as lovely, homely and cosy, with traditional decor, a games room, a screen in the main room and a seat by the fire for a pint after a Sunday walk. Several note it is dog and child friendly, and one praises the landlords for restoring the village pub with love and care. The complaints are small and come from a single reviewer, who found the road outside very dangerous and thought the upstairs toilets probably need a refurbish. Reviewers also recall a cat that strides over the bar to check out customers and a visiting dog who was given a few treats beside the open fire.

“Absolutely beautiful place. you can tell it has been renovated with love, care and attention to detail. The previous landlady passed away and now her 2 sons have taken over to run it in her memory. the pizzas they offer are delicious and I just found out that they will be serving a proper menu from the 14th April 2026. i can't wait to go and try the food and be welcomed again like I was before. 10/10 and HIGHLY recomended.”

“Very friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Traditional decor, a games room, and a screen in the main room. Bar staff very helpful and welcoming, but the star of the establishment is the adorable cat who confidently strides over the bar to check out the customers:”
