Customer Review Summary
Friendly, welcoming staff are what reviewers raise most, with several describing servers who were attentive, offered meal recommendations and asked about dietary requirements. Birthday gatherings come up twice, with reviewers saying the parties ran smoothly. Food is described as tasty and well presented, and diners name the Full English, the breakfast roll and a flavourful flatbread that one reviewer recommends, along with generous portions and a specials board by the bar. The beer is called cold and fresh, and the front of the pub is described as a lovely sun trap with great views, close to the start and end of the Heart of England Way. Complaints are few but specific. One breakfast diner had a long wait for food, though they had been warned, and found it could have been hotter. One cyclist who stopped for a soft drink questioned the cost of an orange cordial and soda water. Another reviewer praises the good access and well spaced tables. One family says a server decorated the side plate for the birthday cake they brought in.

“Dropped in for breakfast after trying 2 other local greene king venues. This venue was warm and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. A long wait for food but we had been warned. Friendly staff, clean environment. Full English very good, breakfast roll tasty. Could have been hotter, that's the only reason for 4 stars rather than 5. Happy customers.”

“Had a lovely meal here last night! Had a main and dessert and the quality was amazing no complaints at all! To make the meal even better our lovely server Lucy was so attentive and was always asking if we needed anything else! She even gave us a few meal recommendations which was super helpful! Great service and food and Lucy is a credit to the Pub!!!!”

“We visited here for my son’s 10th birthday. There were 11 of us and right from the start the staff were amazing…. Very attentive, quick and friendly to serve. Celine in particular was outstanding…. Nothing was too much and even decorated the side plate for the birthday cake we’d brought in for him…. She made the visit more special and she is a credit to the establishment”
