About Catch Corner

Catch Corner is a pub in Stafford, set across from a Holiday Inn and near the M6. The restaurant is large, with a modern dining area, big seats and plenty of room. The menu covers the Signature Beef Burger and a mixed grill, and three-course meals end with apple crumble as the dessert. A quiz night is held at the pub, and dogs are welcome, so a visit with a pet fits alongside a meal. Tables can be booked online, and walk-ins are also seated.

Customer Review Summary

Burgers are the most frequent draw, with reviewers naming the Signature Beef Burger and recommending the burgers alongside beer, and the mixed grill and apple crumble also earn praise for large, hot dishes. Staff come up in nearly every review, described as friendly, lovely and polite, with a server who helped with menu choices and a group of 16 served quickly with everything arriving hot at once. Reviewers also mention a park for kids, and a kids' portion of chips that was topped up without fuss when asked. The caveat is food quality, which splits the reviews. One diner found the steak rubbery and poor quality, with a salad drenched in a mayo-type sauce and onion rings that looked soaked in old oil. Another wanted the steak pinker and found the chicken wings had a strange texture, and a third called the large portions not the best quality. Others expected little and were pleasantly surprised, with three courses leaving a table of four happy. Several mention being seated promptly or booking online without trouble.

“Convenient for the M6 and nearby Holiday Inn Express. This is a large restaurant with a good selection on the menu to choose from. Food is ok, large portions but not the best quality. Staff were very friendly and attentative.”

“Brilliant place to eat. I had been searching for a pub that would cater for around 16 people and also had a park for the kids this was the closest one to us and I had booked it then looked at the menu wasn’t over priced I think very good prices for food & drinks. I didn’t get a photo of the park and I couldn’t find any photos online but it’s a good little park there’s no swings but still enough fun for kids. There was kids from age 3-13 on the park from our family. Recommend the burgers 😋😋 The staff were incredible and lovely I think it was quite fast service considering there was 16 people and other customers in the pub. All came at the same time and all hot! We tried to keep it as tidy as possible. And I thought I’d put a picture of the cake I had!”

“Had a great evening catching up with a friend. Jen served in the restaurant and was lovely, helped us make our food decisions and was always on hand if we needed anything. The guys on the bar and the managers were fantastic. It was exceptionally hot but they were doing a cracking job.”

“On the way home, we spent the night in Stafford. The "Catch Corner" restaurant is located right across from the hotel. We had dinner there and were seated immediately, even without a reservation. We enjoyed burgers and beer. We’ll have fond memories of both the service and the restaurant; anyone near Catch Corner should definitely stop by. We give it 5 stars.”

“Been here a few times when I stay at the holiday inn. It's not bad, not as good as some of the same type of restaurant but ok. I would eat here again no problems. Lots of parking. Had a good steak but could be pinker and I thought the presentation could be better. Had chicken wings for starters. Strange texture but it wasn't bad. All that and a pint for £30”
