About The Rocka Restaurant
On Osborne Road in Southsea, The Rocka Restaurant is a casual dining spot set up for mixed groups, with a menu that covers meat, fish and vegan and vegetarian options alongside each other. The kitchen turns out dishes such as the Rocka steak, seabass, a burger and the Mélange Friture, and edamame sits among the starters. The room has a laid-back feel and takes walk-ins through the week. During a recent SailGP weekend the team brought starters and drinks out to a partial table while the rest of the group was still on the way, an approach that points to flexible, group-friendly service.

Customer Review Summary
Diners return to this Southsea spot most consistently for the food, with several singling out specific dishes: one calls the burger the best they have tasted, another raves about the seabass served hot with balanced flavours, and a visitor mentions loving the edamame. Close behind, reviewers repeatedly highlight the friendly, attentive staff, describing them as helpful, welcoming and great at handling mishaps; one diner recounts a delayed order where a server apologised sincerely and kept the table comfortable while the kitchen caught up. The broad menu draws groups with mixed diets, including vegans and vegetarians, and several mention the Friday deal of a bottle of wine with every two mains as a welcome touch. On the trade-off side, one diner found their salmon a bit dry and another felt the sauce on the Rocka steak overpowered the meat, and one reviewer notes the price of a single egg. Overall, reviewers describe a relaxed, casual atmosphere and say they plan to return.

“We had a fabulous meal at this lovely little restaurant last night — great food, lovely atmosphere and, most importantly, absolutely brilliant staff! Everyone was so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, but a special mention has to go to Ben… who very sweetly forgot to actually put our order through to the kitchen! 😂😂 Now, normally discovering that your dinner is still sitting somewhere in the depths of the ordering system might cause a little panic (especially when you’re hungry!), but Ben was SO apologetic and genuinely mortified that we couldn’t help but laugh. He couldn’t have been more lovely or attentive while we waited, and he definitely earned himself forgiveness! 😂 We eventually got our food — and it was absolutely worth the wait! 👌 Things go wrong sometimes, but it’s how you deal with them that counts, and Ben handled his little culinary catastrophe brilliantly. 😂 We had a really lovely evening and would definitely go back. Great food, fantastic staff and plenty of laughs — what more could you ask for?”

“Americans like me might balk at 3 pounds for one egg, but that one egg was EXCELLENT. the rest of the family loved their food as well.”

“We visited Rocka during SailGP in July, looking for something casual after the racing. It's a laid-back dining venue with a broad selection of cuisines — should cater for most tastes. One of our group got stuck at the event, so we ended up waiting a while for the full table, but the staff were fantastic about it. Nothing was a hassle — they kept us going with starters and drinks while we waited. Food was great, my favourite was the edamame. Great spot, I'll be back.”

“Booked here for a Birthday treat Staff were very helpful and pleasant Service spot on I was very impressed with my dinner, had seabass, served hot and the flavours were just right My husband had Rocka steak and felt the sauce was a bit too much, will ask to have it seperate next time. Daughter had Mélange Friture, which she really enjoyed”
