Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws most reviewers, especially the small breakfast with sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, beans and toast plus a refillable tea or coffee. It is described as good value and tasty, though warm rather than piping hot, with friendly staff and several coffee machines keeping queues short. Others report the opposite. One says breakfast eggs looked scraped off the floor, another sent back pancakes that were not what was ordered and then returned with the wrong fruit, and one waited over half an hour for food. Cleanliness comes up repeatedly, with tables piled high with dirty dishes, dusty toilets and carpets needing vacuuming. Speed divides opinion. Some found food and drink out quickly despite the crowds, while a family reported chewy sausages and cold chips and beans in the children's meals, arriving before their drinks. One diner's replacement fish and chips had undercooked batter and dripping fat, and the dispute with the manager ended in a negotiated partial refund.

“Went with family for breakfast. I ordered for them, then went to have a 15 minute phone call. When I got back they hadn't received anything, so I could have ordered for me at the same time. However I ordered for myself and it took over 30 minutes, so if you are in a rush this isn't the place for you. A positive is that there are 3 coffee machines so not much of a queue for that. Unfortunately though the food was repeating on me all day, but that may be due to how long I had to wait - apparently the server couldn't find the table, well that's what I was told anyway!”

“Typical spoons lots of tables crammed in and very busy. But the food and drink both came out quickly and is of usual standard. Despite how busy it was. Ordered via the app, staff were pleasant and friendly”

“Just your typical Wetherspoons, but only 3 stars due to the place needing a good clean, dusty toilets and the carpets needed vacuuming. Wasn't deliberately looking, but it wasn't hard to notice.”

“No music, a couple of slots machines in the bar area. The noise level was moderate and holding a conversation was easy, but the tables are quite close so you do hear other people's chat. I can imagine during the night time when people are drinking the noise level could become high. Our visit was mid morning for the breakfast menu(stops serving at 12.00). There were a few empty tables at first which did fill up, however there is a fairly quick turn around for food so tables soon become available. The food is good value for money, decent portions and the added bonus of free refills for tea @ coffee. If you have visited a JD Wetherspoons before you know what to expect if you haven't been in one before you maybe surprised”
