Customer Review Summary

Diners most often return for the generous evening portions, with several carrying home boxes of leftovers after dishes like lamb with cumin, duck in pancakes, scallops, ribs and chicken satay. Close behind are the sizzling dishes that arrive piping hot, pots of jasmine tea and food that reaches the table quickly. The delivery robot is called interesting and cool, and staff are described as polite, warm and quick to refill rice bowls and tea. One reviewer says the evening menu beats the lunch buffet, which others like for its wide range and free rice and soup, though one notes the per kilo charge can climb quickly. Complaints centre on value and consistency. One reviewer found the lamb tough, another found the cumin lamb a little dry and the leftovers very salty, and a one-star review describes an average buffet portion, an oily meal and a rude cashier. One diner ends on the complimentary watermelon slice and fortune cookie.

“Been here a few times and the foods always good but last night was exeptional. Chicken Satay, Lamb with Cumin, Scallops, Ribs, Duck in Pancakes, S/S Fish, rice and noodles. It was all so good. We will be back Very soon”

“Amazing Chinese food! Portion sizes are large and takeaway containers were provided for any food we couldn’t finish. The dinner/evening menu is definitely better than the lunch buffet”

“I paid 3 times more for an average quantity of a meal. See the 1st picture. The quality so low. As you can in the 2nd picture, there was a stream of oil at the end of having the meal. Just for the name sake, it’s a buffet. It costed more than £50 for 2 people. It was a very unpleasant experienced I faced here. The cashiers lady was sooo rude. What an attitude?!? My money and health went for a six! I will never go to this place and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.”

“We didn't realise this so worth mentioning free customer parking is available just opposite the building after 5pm on weekdays and anytime weekends. The food was astonishingly good, even a local from China, our friend and guest, recognised that the quality was fanstastic. Highly recommended 👌 Service was also on point, always there to assist us and fill up our rice bowl and tea. The food was hot and ready on our table in no time. Some of the food delivered by a robot which is a cool new finding. The decor is akin to a traditional chinese restaurant with a modern touch, to fit in the new centenary building.”

“The ambience of the restaurant is lovely. Good place to have a large family meal when you have guests or a place to take the family when you are just too tired to cook. The food is tasty and pots of jasmine tea 🍵 great...not tiny like some places I've been, they were too small. The Sizzling dishes arrive piping hot. The lamb was abit tough. Be prepared to spend over £100 for a hungry party of 5. The Robot 🤖 that delivers the food is interesting but doesn't dimish the overall service which was great. Would recommend if they could offer large family portion size of soup bowl so families have a variety on the table to share when ordering for a big family. Plenty free parking after 5pm. I do recommend this restaurant as a place to go when in Southampton.”
