  “Food was so delicious for a humble 5 pounds tuna sandwich. Plus waiter was so kind and enthusiastic that we will come back every weekend. Please have in mind if you came before June probably was another staff and as today 06/2026 the service super. Because now all team is so welcoming and nice!! Plus free wifi and there is always place to seat in comparison with other restaurants inside the mall that are super crowded. It is hidding away from the crowds so not many people know about it.”

  “Just purchased a pot of tea at 5pm ,lady trying to take my tray 5.15pm while I still had my personal stuff on tray plus tea etc . Blonde big Man came over from kitchen and said it was time to leave !!!When I questioned this he said to leave soon as or begone by 5.30pm !!!!!Muck swept and left by tables deliberately Avoid folks .Heavy Floor cleaning machine loudly being used while still people and children around ,so dangerous ,accident waiting to happen .Blonde man will try and intimidate you ,used to be a great cafe .”

  “I’m not one to complain especially on Saturday afternoon when one expects the cafe to be busy, but today’s experience left a lot to desire, more chatting between the staff than serving, long queues forming as a result. Just no care in the world. My drink was left on the side for 20 minutes as they ran out of the ingredient, I stood there waiting until I had to request an alternative, by the time they made it, the rest of my group finished theirs and were ready to leave. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.”

  “I usually enjoy visiting M&S Café, but the recent experience was very poor. The food and drink took far too long to arrive, the tables weren’t cleared, and the atmosphere felt chaotic. It was clear that the staff were trying their best under difficult circumstances, but there simply weren’t enough of them to cope with the number of customers. The team on shift were polite and apologetic, but they were clearly stretched beyond what’s reasonable. This is not a reflection on their attitude or effort — it’s a failure of management to provide adequate staffing and support. M&S, if you want your cafés to live up to your brand reputation, you need to invest in proper staffing levels, better training, and smoother organisation. The staff deserve it, and so do your customers. Ever since David left, it’s been shambolic. Staff are friendly and doing their best, but they’re clearly overwhelmed. Long waits, messy tables, and slow service all point to poor staffing and lack of management support. M&S needs to step up and give its team the help they deserve — customers are noticing.”

  “Best matcha in Southampton! Been really struggling to find a good matcha spot locally and Marks and Spencer’s just get it right every time. Staff are absolutely wonderful, and accommodating! Amazing 10/10.”

  “Popped in here for a coffee and a pastry and just needed to say thanks to David, our super server who made our visit a memorable event. Lovely guy, personable, friendly and full of character- a credit to the brand. Thanks David, keep up the kindness young man, you folks would be super proud.”

  “The staff at the M&S Café today made our day. So helpful, cheerful and attentive. The man cleaning the tables was incredibly meticulous, and the service was definitely with a smile. Delicious all day breakfast for my son, who was delighted. Thank you. Deserves a positive review!”

  “Stopped off for a breakfast. Nice location in the shopping mall . Till service was good although the prices are a little inflated so had high expectations of the food . The milk for the tea was so small we had to go and ask for more. But that’s not so important just noted. Anyway the breakfast itself was very bland . The bacon was dry and the sausage were probably sitting under a hot lamp keeping warm for a while. Eggs were good , tomatoes were good , toast was dry and cold .the hash browns were very soggy and more like eating cold mashed potato overall it was an underwhelming experience for £25 Also with it being busy and people hunting for tables it would be useful to actually have someone clearing the tables so costumers could use them .”

  “We have consistently had great service at M&S cafe Southampton, so much that when my family and I meet we always come for breakfast and/or cake. Today it’s my mums birthday and she was given free cake and thoroughly looked after by the wonderful Dave. Highly recommend.”

  “Popped into M&S Cafe a few weeks ago and had lunch with my girlfriend. Lovely food and atmosphere and especially the service was amazing by David. He was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Will be heading back soon!”
