Customer Review Summary

The mega breakfast is the draw reviewers raise most, with several calling it filling and satisfying, and one praising how accommodating the kitchen was to changes. Diners describe the food as freshly cooked, homemade and not greasy, arriving quickly, with a good variety of breakfasts and a nice latte. Staff come across as pleasant, and several call the prices reasonable. The complaints centre on the same plate. One reviewer found the mega breakfast swimming in beans with cheap sausages, and another wanted nicer sausages, better cooked eggs and less greasy hash browns. One described scrambled eggs and hashbrowns as undercooked and swimming in fat, plus stale chocolate orange cake and chipped china. A full English lost a point for tinned tomatoes instead of grilled fresh ones, and one visitor found lunchtime dull after a warmer, cosier first visit and thought the food poor value. One reviewer also noted the cafe is cash only, and a plate arrived with no beans exactly as requested.

“Breakfast was delicious, so fresh and not greasy at all. Staff was very pleasant. Think I've found my new favourite café”

“I’ve visited Tony’s twice- the first time (over a year ago) I would rate it 4/5… this week I was disappointed. Low quality food at very high prices. On the plus side, the staff got all our orders correct and the food arrived pretty quickly. It may have been the time of day we went (lunchtime), that made the whole atmosphere a bit dull and boring- there was no warmth or vibrancy to the place. Our previous visit to this one was so different - warm and cosy, and it felt special. Now it’s the opposite. Sadly, Tony’s won’t be my ‘go-to’ place for lunch - I’ll go home and make it myself for a fraction of the price.”

“Good honest freshly cooked food from an independent restaurant. You don't find this kind of place much anymore. Really enjoyed our meals. Very reasonable too.”
  • LazySoul
“I love this place. It's small, just the right size – exactly how it should be. The food doesn’t take long to arrive, and it’s very tasty and homemade. It’s the perfect spot for breakfast at any time of the day. I highly recommend it to everyone.”
