Quick info
About Cranmore Fish Bar
Cranmore Fish Bar is a fish and chips takeaway at 244 Cranmore Blvd in Solihull, with a kebab menu running alongside the fryer. The donner and mixed meat kebabs come with chips and salad, and the meat is weighed, with chips and salad filling the rest of the box. That makes it a stop for anyone who wants a kebab and chips from the same shop. Cod and chips comes in medium, large and mini sizes, so portions can match appetite, and battered sausage is also on the menu. The shop opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays. Payment works by debit or credit card, and the shop can get busy.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips draw the strongest praise, with reviewers describing flaky, moist white fish in light, crisp batter, freshly cooked and still hot at home. Cod, scallops, curry sauce and the mini fish and chips are named as highlights, and one reviewer calls the fish some of the best in a long while. Kebabs fare worse. Reviewers say the donner was dry and the large mixed meat kebab arrived mostly chips, with a few saying the shop now weighs the meat and the salad, so a large order is filled out with chips or salad. Rising prices come up repeatedly, with some finding them fair for the quality and others calling them too high for takeaway. Order mistakes recur too, as two reviewers say a battered sausage was left out, and one says it was still charged. Others mention chips slightly undercooked, a meal barely warm on a Thursday evening, and unfriendly service at the till, while one reviewer found the staff excellent. One reviewer who bought a large order described it as greasy and binned it.

“Very nice fish and chip shop, freshly cooked and very good sizes. Not just fish and chips, burgers, kebabs, wraps. Excepts debit and credit cards. Very reasonable prices. Can get busy as very popular.”

“Atrocious! Unfortunately a once appreciated establishment is no longer a viable option. The quality of the food is absolutely terrible the pricing has gone through the roof. The service is shocking as mentioned in another review they’re now weighing the food and won’t even put the salad separately which many places do without any fuss. The reason being you order a larger donner and chips they want to fill half the box with salad and charge £14.00. The donner was dry and looked like it had been hacked off the spit. Just terrible! Even the chips are no longer the same. Such a shame. I’ll be looking for a new place for my kebabs. Fish and chips etc.”
