About wagamama solihull
Wagamama Solihull is an Asian-inspired restaurant on level 1 of the Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull, opposite the cinema. The menu features the crispy saku saku duck soba and build-your-own donburi bowls, which let diners put their own bowl together. Chicken katsu is also listed, with curry sauce over battered chicken on rice. The restaurant serves quick lunches, group dinners and catch-ups with friends and family. A table is allocated at the door, and a server then takes the order at the table. Payment is made by scanning a QR code on the table.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken katsu and ramen come up most, with the katsu portion called generous and the ramen broth described as tasty with a little spicy kick, especially in a Korean BBQ pork belly bowl. One diner found the noodles too soft and broken. Close behind are the broccoli with special sauce, mini katsu rice and vanilla ice cream, plus a free edamame through the app. Servers draw repeated praise as lovely, helpful and friendly with children, and one family was offered high chairs and had the kids combo explained. The recurring caveat is uneven service on busier visits. One table got a son's meal long before the parent's, the sauce he ordered never arrived, and a request for water went unanswered while a server cleaned tables. Another diner's main arrived before the side dish, though a server fixed it so both were eaten together. A couple of diners mention a wait at the door, and one ordered online instead and found the katsu and two ramens packed well. A late evening party had takeaway timed to be ready as they finished eating in.

“Just wanted to give extra praise to one of the workers in tonight, a lovely lady called Freya who was so kind and personable. Whilst she wasnt our assigned waitress (who was still lovely) she was still more than happy to take our order and went out of her way to fulfil my request of additional salad! Thank you”

“We had lunch here on Thursday as a table of three for my dads birthday and we were served by a really attentive server I think her name was Keya. The food was lovely but the service was exceptional. She was so helpful and informative and it made the experience so easy. Not only that but her entire section was well looked after- being a server myself I know good service can be overlooked, Keya’s service is worth recognising.”

“Went in for a spot of food late on in the evening prior to close and Freya specifically was very accommodating with ensure we still got served to a great standard and ensured the separate take way food ordered was prepped in time with us finishing our meals in the restaurant. Great services and food!”

“Fancied a change on this visit to Solihull, so gave Wagamama a go. Was seen and taken to my seat very quickly and courteously by one of the servers, and then had my order taken by my server, Mohammed. I did end up getting my main order served before my side dish, but Mohammed went and mentioned this to the waiters and I ended up eating both at the same time. The broccoli 🥦 served with a special sauce was much tastier than I imagined, and the main dish was quite an experience. It was an authentic oriental dining experience, having to use chopsticks 🥢 and embarrassingly I had to ask for help from Mohammed using them, but he pointed out there was also the option of a fork and spoon 🥄. But I ended up looking worse than a four year old with a bib getting all this soupy/watery stuff that came with the pasta 🍝 and vegetables that were served with my chicken 🐔 all over me. The food itself was very tasty and satisfying though, and all the better they allowed me to pay with cash, which all came at a very reasonable £33.50. I will definitely go again, maybe not next time, but thanks for a different eating experience.”

“Me and my son went for dinner today. Experienced Very poor service and staff behaviour. They brought my son’s order and took 15 minutes for my order. For god sake learn 101 of hotel industry. People are not going together to eat one after another😆😆. On the top of it My son’s order came without the sauce he ordered. when we Asked for glass of water, waiter started doing the table cleaning and disappeared for almost 15 minutes. - Ridiculous staff tonight and manager was even more ridiculous. Normally this place has a decent staff. Today was big disappointment. Pls get rid of these lazy bunch …”
