Customer Review Summary
Reviews are split. One diner describes a very long wait for Okra soup that arrived looking nothing like the dish, though a refund was granted. That reviewer also found service slow, including at the bar, and staff dismissive. Another calls the food awful and the staff impolite. Others call it a welcoming venue with food and drinks for all, and mention music played through a bass amplifier sound system.

“I genuinely cannot remember the last time I experienced such appalling service at a restaurant. From start to finish, this was nothing short of a disaster. Let's start with the TWO-HOUR wait for food. Yes, TWO HOURS! Not for a five-course tasting menu, not for a freshly slaughtered cow, but for a portion of Okra soup! You would think they were growing the okra from scratch. Throughout this ordeal, the staff seemed completely oblivious to what was happening around them. In particular, a shorter lady wearing glasses stood out for all the wrong reasons. Her communication style was unnecessarily rude, aggressive and dismissive. Not once did I get the impression that anyone was genuinely concerned about the ridiculous waiting times or the customers' experience. And then, after two painful hours, THE FOOD FINALLY ARRIVED. I've attached a photograph because words alone cannot do justice to this culinary catastrophe. What was presented to me was supposedly Okra soup. WHERE WAS THE OKRA? Your guess is as good as mine! The colour was completely wrong, the consistency was questionable, and the whole thing looked absolutely nothing like the dish I ordered. It was so embarrassing that I genuinely contemplated walking to the nearest shop, buying some okra myself, bringing it back and asking the kitchen to kindly add it to whatever experiment they had produced. I wish I were joking. Instead, I politely requested a refund, which, to their credit, was granted. Unfortunately, nobody could refund the TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE that I will never get back. And the problems didn't end there: The toilets stink. Basic hygiene and cleanliness should not be optional in a hospitality establishment. The staff appear completely disengaged. Watching some of them drag themselves around the restaurant, you would be forgiven for thinking customers were inconveniencing them simply by being there. The attitude is shocking. Certain staff members carry themselves as though they are the main characters and everyone else is merely an inconvenience. Based on what I witnessed, I genuinely question whether some of them even want to be there. Perhaps the current economy is keeping them in jobs they clearly have no enthusiasm for. Service is painfully slow across the board. This wasn't limited to food. Even customers simply trying to purchase drinks seemed to experience unnecessary delays. Serving a drink should be light work for a functioning bar, yet somehow even that appeared to be a challenge. The atmosphere was one of visible frustration. You could see the disappointment on customers' faces. I wasn't the only person wondering what on earth was going on. If I owned this establishment, I would seriously consider reviewing a couple of hours of CCTV footage, simply to witness the extraordinary ordeal customers are being subjected to. I suspect the owner would be horrified. After wasting two hours waiting for an unacceptable meal, I ended up settling for a Turkish kebab for dinner. Imagine visiting a restaurant specifically for African cuisine, waiting two hours, and eventually leaving hungry enough to buy a kebab elsewhere. The irony is that the kebab establishment managed the seemingly impossible task of actually serving me food. MY FINAL VERDICT: Heritage Kitchen & Bar was an extraordinary waste of time, energy and patience. The food was dreadful, the service painfully slow, the staff's attitude left a lot to be desired, and the overall experience was genuinely embarrassing. The only comparison I can think of is Manchester United spending £73 million on Jadon Sancho. Enormous expectations, spectacular disappointment, and ultimately a complete waste of time and money. A total disgrace.”
