Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers return to the Meze & Grill and the mixed grill platters, praising the marinated meat, with the lamb, lamb chops and halloumi singled out. Close behind are the meze starters, where the warm fresh bread, tzatziki, hummus and light, refreshing dips draw repeated mention, and the Chicken Fajitas. Diners finish with the homemade baklava and a chocolate orange brownie cake. Service is described as friendly and fast even when the restaurant was packed, and one solo diner was given a one-person meze platter instead of the one made for two. Reviewers also call the portions good and the prices reasonable for a touristy area, and one notes no service charge is added, so cash tips are suggested. The main criticism comes from one reviewer who found the server polite but frosty and abrupt, and thought the side salads, with dry carrots, fell short of similar restaurants. Another diner, travelling from out of town, rated the pizza above most pizza restaurants.

“An Absolutely Wonderful Evening at Efendy – Exceptional Food, Beautiful Views, and Outstanding Hospitality! We had such a wonderful evening at Efendy, and it is an experience we will remember fondly. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of authentic Turkish flavours. Every dish was a delight, with the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into the preparation shining through in every bite. It was a real treat for the senses and a true celebration of Turkish cuisine. The location is simply stunning, with beautiful views overlooking the Cathedral, creating such a lovely atmosphere for an enjoyable and memorable evening. It is the perfect setting to relax, savour delicious food, and enjoy great company. However, what truly made our evening exceptional was the amazing staff and the genuine warmth of their hospitality. A very special thank you to Aykut, who went above and beyond to look after us and make sure all our needs were taken care of. His attentiveness, kindness, and thoughtful approach made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Our waiter, Waheed, was also wonderful, and Naz, our waitress, was equally lovely. The entire team made us feel so comfortable, and their friendly, caring service really made all the difference. One thing we particularly appreciated was that we were never made to feel rushed. We were able to sit back, relax, enjoy our food, take in the beautiful surroundings, and savour every moment of the evening. That unhurried, welcoming atmosphere made the whole experience even more special. Restaurants are often remembered for their food, but it is the people who make an experience truly unforgettable. Efendy has the perfect combination of outstanding food, a beautiful location, and staff who genuinely care about their guests. Thank you to Aykut, Waheed, Naz, and the entire Efendy team for looking after us so wonderfully and making our evening such a pleasure. We left with happy hearts, wonderful memories, and already looking forward to our next visit. We will most definitely be returning, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Efendy to anyone looking for delicious Turkish food, breathtaking views, and hospitality that makes you feel right at home. ❤️”

“After being battered by rain as we climbed Malham Cove, we went to Skipton for lunch. I saw this restaurant & decided to try it. The place was cozy & welcoming. The food was delicious, 10/10.”

“We visited Efendy on Saturday evening and, despite the restaurant being absolutely rammed, the service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and incredibly fast. The food was amazing. We had the Meze & Grill, which for the two-course option included a fantastic selection of both hot and cold starters followed by the grill mains. Everything was beautifully cooked, full of flavour and the perfect amount of food. We both agreed that this was the best meal we’ve had in a very long time. Fantastic food, great service and a brilliant atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!”

“We stopped in before touring the Skipton Castle and decided to do the mixed hot/cold appetizer plate and the mixed grill to try a little of everything. It was more than enough for 3 people. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were very reasonable for being in a touristy area. The stars of the show were the lamb and halloumi. When we return, we plan to order dishes that highlight those. Overall, super fresh veggies, the various dips were light and refreshing, and the meats had wonderful aromatics and depth of flavor. This wasn't on our list of "must haves" while visiting Yorkshire, but I'm glad we stopped in. It was a wonderful side quest from the typical pies, fish and chips, and foods more traditional to the area.”

“The food was really good and tasted light and fresh. The bread was exceptional, as was the Tzaziki and Hummus. The server, whilst polite, came across quite frosty and abrupt. The side salads weren't great compared to other similar restaurants I've been to - dry carrots etc.”
