About The Gandhi
The Gandhi runs as an evenings-only Indian restaurant in Skegness, open daily at 33 Roman Bank. The kitchen is halal throughout, working through traditional curries and tandoori dishes, with naga, pathia and vindaloo among the curries and rice or naan bread ordered alongside. Reservations are recommended, though tables early in the evening have been available to those arriving without one. The dining room seats guests on buttoned banquettes, with large windows running along it. High chairs make the room workable for families with young children, and a step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a lift or stairs. Being open every evening of the week, it suits people staying in the town for a night or two.

Customer Review Summary
Curry draws the most consistent praise, with repeat visitors singling out the King Prawn Naga, Lamb Naga and Chicken Tikka Pathia as full of flavour, and one calling it the best meal they had in Skegness. Close behind sits the pickle tray, praised for generous portions and a good selection, and several describe the staff as friendly and welcoming, though one diner notes the person taking their order never cracked a smile. Service is where complaints cluster: one Valentine's Day account details a later couple's order taken first, a cold plate of special fried rice, a cheese naan arriving without cheese and forgotten Bombay potatoes, while another was told the kitchen wanted starters and mains ordered together. A takeaway customer found the lamb vindaloo short on meat and the rice poor. One reviewer reports finding meat in paneer chaat dishes and says they were asked to leave without an apology. Others mention the toilets being upstairs, and the small chocolates handed over when paying at the bar.

“We had a couple of nights in skeg and fancied a curry, the curry was absolutely spot on I love a curry and this was up there as one of the best,I must say tho that the guy who took our order wasn't very sociable he never cracked a smile all evening”

“We came in 2 nights ago and it was quite busy even though it was a Tuesday which was nice to see. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were served straight away and despite how busy it was we still hot our food pretty quickly. All the food was really, reslly nice and we both enjoyed ot very much. Special mention for the pickle tray which was not only very nice and had the 4 items I love the most but the portions were good. Definitely going to come back next time we are in Skeg”

“Absolutely lovely meal, best meal we have had in Skegness, would 100% recommend this restaurant, food was tasty, hot, just the right amount of spices, one of the top curry restaurants we have ever had :) Service was excellent, staff were very nice and helpful.”

“Had a really bad experience as they added meat in between our paneer chat dishes and when we found suspicious and informed to the owner he did not even apologised and asked us to leave and find pure vegetarian restaurants in the town. During the conversation we said him that we are Hindus and following our religion strictly still he did not have a respect about the religion. On a very serious note wants to warn every Indian and specially all the vegetarian people that this place is not suitable for you as they could be added meat in your vegetable dishes and you might not know about it. When you are entering into the restaurant their interiors looks like Indian restaurants but the Owner is from Either Bangladesh or Pakistan. Just using Indian Name and traditional values for the business as they know restaurant might never earn profit if they use their own names.”

“Always on point at The Gandhi. The food is absolutely banging every time. We had the King Prawn Naga, Lamb Naga and Chicken Tikka Pathia and every dish was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere and consistently one of the best Indian restaurants around. It can take a little time when they’re busy, but it’s always worth the wait. Sam Wallis”
