About Lucky Eater

On Grand Parade in Skegness, Lucky Eater is a family restaurant and breakfast restaurant set on the top floor of the Lucky Strike building, reached by lift or stairs above the arcades below. The seating area looks out over a sea view across the seafront, and a balcony offers outdoor seating for those who want it. The menu runs from hunters chicken and a seafood platter to baguettes and burgers, brought to the table by staff taking orders. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance serves visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are set out for families with young children, with a play area on the same floor for kids. The restaurant opens daily, and reservations are recommended, since the room can get busy near the play area at peak times.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers repeatedly single out the hunters chicken and the seafood platter as standouts, with several also praising the cajun chicken baguette and fish and chips, alongside coffee enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the sea. Most describe the food as hot, well priced, and generous in portion, and many highlight the views from the top floor along with the adjoining arcades and soft play area that keep children entertained. Staff are frequently called friendly and service is often described as fast, though a few note it slows when busy. Complaints do surface: one diner found a cheese bacon burger's bun cold and unmelted, and called a chorizo pizza worse than a frozen supermarket version despite praising the view and service that day. Another found their chicken portion too small and cheap looking for the price. One visitor also described a mixed up order from an inexperienced till worker and frustration at being refused a mash-to-chips substitution on liver and mash, even offering to pay extra. Several reviewers say they return regularly, watching life go by from the window seats after finishing their fish and chips.

“Went here Sunday and most staff were very good and helpfull but the young lad on the till didn't have a clue keep getting the order mixed up or having to go and ask someone to help . When you order they don't like you trying to change things on the menu ie liver and mash ... can't change mash for chips even though others in our group was having chips , didn't seem to hard for me to just leave mash off and put chips on even offered to pay the difference but was told its on the menu with mash so you have to have it with mash not very good customer service”

“The food is fantastic here, we come very regularly and find it well priced and the food is always consistently good and quick to arrive. The kids always eat their full plate and love it too. There's also a play centre next to it which keeps them super happy. If you are hungry go here, you won't be dissapointed. Hunters chicken is especially amazing.”

“Enjoyable for all ages who love the arcades! Lucky water is a cafe on the 2nd floor where you can get a coffee, sit outside on the balcony and see the sea. Prices are good for food/snacks and drinks hot/cold.”
