Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the most frequent draw, with several reviewers calling it nice and one singling out a steamed butterscotch drink made with the milk of their choice. Close behind are the views and the plentiful indoor and outdoor seating, which walkers describe as a main stop to fuel up, along with friendly staff. Food praise centers on the cornish pasty and the curried cauliflower pasty, plus excellent cakes, chunky cheesy fries with real cheddar, and a loaded baked potato. The complaints are specific. Vegan cheese wedges were microwaved until overcooked and slow to arrive, half the cakes and snacks had gone by the afternoon, and a celiac reviewer found the gluten free scone and other options came from packets. One reviewer described disinterested staff and harsh lighting. When a sausage roll arrived cold inside, the staff quickly replaced it with a warm one.

“Really clean fresh cafe. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed inside in a different section at the back. I was slightly confused with the sign outside. Said, dogs welcome. But do not bring near counter?. I travel alone. So not willing to tie dogs up outside. A family went in and asked if i could bring dogs in to make my order. And they where fine with me doing so. I then took my coffee outside. Sat at a bench. And they brought my bacon bap to me. Selection of cakes, drinks etc. Some lovely views when you sit outside. I chose to park in main car park. Which was £8 for the day. But you can park on B ROAD for free and walk on.”

“Nice cafe, good coffee and great service from friendly staff. But no fresh gluten free cakes, although I (celiac) appreciated the gluten free scone it was from a packet and the other gluten free options were also packet things, which is better than nothing but not great.”

“Excellent service from Robin. And the young lady on the coffe machine today, even checked the oat milk for my wife who is a coeliac, and said that it contained gluten. Had the curried cauliflower pasty and wow was amazing!! See picture.”

“The cafe was quite nice overall, so the 3 stars may seem odd, but while we had a nice coffee to start, we came back from lunch and half the cakes/snacks had gone. It's lovely to have as many vegan options as there were so that's positive, however, we ordered the wedges with vegan cheeze, and they had been microwaved loads (presumably to melt the cheese) but the wedges were already overcooked so they were just not nice. Luckily we had a cookie that was great but just don't microwave the cheese. Also it took a while to get the wedges.”
