About Kopi and Chai
Kopi and Chai is a cafe in Sheffield at 55 Derbyshire Ln, open daily. Daytime service centres on coffee, including iced latte, with baked goods such as carrot cake on the counter. A lunch menu runs through the middle of the day, and a bagel with coffee is one way to order it. In the evenings the cafe keeps serving food and adds cocktails, with espresso martinis among them. A box of toys gives toddlers something to play with, so parents bringing young children can settle in for either the daytime or the evening.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints centre on food and value. One reviewer paid for two tortillas that arrived tiny, open and cold, with no seasoning and no salt and pepper on the table. Another waited over 40 minutes for two dishes in a quiet room, and the chorizo and beef brisket parmigiana was watery enough to soak through the sourdough.

“Lovely coffee shop. Always great coffee. Walked 20 minutes up hill, sweated my nutsack off to get their lovely brews”

“Love this place. Have been a couple of times when working in the area. Great atmosphere/vibe inside & a cool seating area outside.”

“The prices are high and the food was very disappointing. A slice of cake was £4.50. I paid £13 for a meal described on the menu as two tortillas with various fillings (fried eggs, avocado, beans and salsa). In return, I expected to receive two sizable hot tortilla wraps, but instead received two miniature (TINY) tortillas, open and topped with a meagre amount of toppings, none of which were hot. (I'm not sure about other people, but when I think of tortillas, I think of hot food!) It was not appetising nor satisfying. I could not taste any seasoning, and there was no salt and pepper on the table. The ambiance was nice, but in my opinion, the quality and quantity of the food was low, and does not merit the price point.”

“I had a couple of hours spare while the guys on the building site opposite unloaded my concrete slabs so popped in for a nice iced latte and a rest in the sun watching the world go by. Good service and atmosphere, so good in fact I'm going back tomorrow.”

“Disappointing experience at this cafe. Beginning with a lot of promise, we walked into a warm, welcoming place with a fairly interesting menu. The food and service however were not up to standard, we waited over 40 minutes for our 2 dishes, in a less than busy restaurant. The food itself was okay, my chorizo and beef brisket parmigiana was very watery, so much so that the sourdough that the topping was sitting on was effectively soaked through - clearly the brisket hasn't been pan fried to tackle the moisture. Made for a fairly bland meal, and combined with the long wait, I couldn't recommend this restaurant.”
