About Wisewood Inn
Wisewood Inn is a pub in the Loxley Valley on the outskirts of Sheffield, at 539 Loxley Rd, serving Loxley Brewery cask ales brewed on site. A pale ale is among the beers. The beer garden, one of the largest in Sheffield, looks over the valley, so drinks can be taken with the view. The kitchen cooks a Sunday lunch with a choice of meats, served with Yorkshire puddings and cheese sauce. A mixed grill and desserts are also on the menu. Downstairs, a private function room has shutters that open onto the terrace, which gives groups a space of their own. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch is what most reviewers return for, with generous meat choices, big portions and a cheese sauce one diner calls "to die for". The Yorkshire puddings also get a mention, and the mixed grill and a burger are named as well. Desserts are called excellent and tasty, and a pale ale is praised for being unusually clear and bright. Staff are described as friendly and welcoming, one helping a diner pick a beer, and food is repeatedly said to arrive quickly. Several reviewers describe a lovely atmosphere, and one says drinks prices felt reasonable. The complaints are about consistency. One Sunday roast arrived a bit cold, another dinner was missing the gammon and came with lumpy mash and very hard veg, and one reviewer found the chips greasy. One reviewer suggests booking ahead for food because it fills up quickly. A pub function room hosted a 40th anniversary buffet for 50 guests, with the bar staff looking after the group all day.

“Went for a celebration meal with running group after Sheffield Half. The team were very quick to respond to queries as part of the booking process. We pre-ordered and food came quickly once we had all arrived. Food really excellent. All very relaxed and we stayed for quite a while after we had finished the meal, as a lovely atmosphere. Prices reasonable, particularly for drinks (was out at restaurant chain the night before, a small glass of wine was over a tenner, got a round of two alcoholic drinks for £8, very reasonable in this day and age)”
