  “Absolutely fantastic Indian restaurant! The food was full of authentic flavours, with perfectly balanced spices and freshly prepared dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and outstanding food. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a genuine Indian dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!”

  “Wish I could leave a six star rating! We went for the buffet on Sunday, and couldn't believe how good the food was. Really tasty, with dishes on offer that you don't often find - especially not at the pub! The paneer was especially good, and I fully recommend pairing everything with the paratha! Pub atmosphere was really cosy, with a great range of Kirkstall beers on offer. Cherry on the cake was the staff, who went above and beyond for us. Really lovely, very people! 😁”

  “Delightful from start to finish! The food is unexpected - flavourful, unique and you can tell there’s passion in the cooking. The fried okra was unreal, particularly with the sauce. I also loved the masala dosa. Ekta delivered great service and was attentive and friendly. I’ve been going to The York for drinks for years but Karobar has me coming back just for the food.”

  “Went for the Sunday Lunch. (x2 courses £25) South India meets South Yorkshire. Brilliant mash up of flavours. We actually had 'pre starters' by ordering some Pyaaz Bhaji crispy, onion fritters with an amazing Mint Chutney. Followed by pork belly and Amritsari fried fish, both rather large portions for a starters. But great flavours. Mains of slow cooked beef and a ham hock, served with Yorkshire puds, spicy roast spuds and broccoli, Really good fresh take on a sunday roast. Loved it. Short but interesting, and affordable, wine list. Big range of craft beers. Great venue, One to come back to for sure”

  “Met a friend for drinks on an icy Friday night. She'd eaten beforehand and I hadn't. Loved that I could just order these tiny, perfectly crisp, onion bhajis to go with my drink. Will definitely go back to try more of the menu.”

  “We had the pleasure of attending the VIP pre-launch of Karobar, an Indian Kitchen now residing in this Sheffield Pub, serving vibrant, bold and authentic Indian classics and modern fusions. As well as a fantastic menu covering an array of tasty Indian bites, starters and mains and a few desserts, you can also come by for Indian Sunday Dinners… But for now, just take in the delights of this spice-led feast, now available every day at The York. Of course, as this is a pub, it’s not just about the food. The York is a Kirkstall Brewery venue, so be sure to try lots of Yorkshire-brewed beers on tap as well as some hand-crafted cocktails, created especially to pair fabulously with their new menu. Or sip on a classic choice of your own. I was first introduced to the delights of Karobar at The Three Swords in Leeds, which was fantastic, so I am really happy to see this brand expand and find another home that is a little closer to me! We enjoyed sampling; ⭐Poppadoms with mango chutney and a spicy as (how we like it!) mint yoghurt️ ⭐Bread Pakora (like a deep-fried paneer sandwich YESSSS️ ⭐Punjabi Samosa ⭐Masala / Chicken Chettinad Dosas – lovely! ⭐Jackfruit & Peas / Chicken Tikka Biryanis – Very filling and tasty ⭐Beetroot Halwa with Pistachio Kulfi – strange texture for us, but we tried it! ⭐Chocolate Fondant with Kulfi – Delicious OBVS ⭐Pineapple Margarita 👍 Everything we tried was scrumptious, and as we are big fans of Indian food, I have no doubt that we will be back to try more, especially the curries, and they have some fantastic sounding seafood dishes too. They also have a large vegan offering too!”

  “Amazing flavourful food We had a fantastic meal at The York Karobar. The food was fantastic. Each dish prepared and presented beautifully. The flavours were outstanding. Each bite an explosion of flavour. A favourite we tried were the Fish and Pink Prawn Amritsari and the Butter Chicken Curry. The staff were very attentive and quick to answer any questions or offer advice. They were all friendly and welcoming. We will be back again for sure.”
