  “The staff here are extremely efficient and helpful. The whole set up is very well organised and even though it has been very busy both times I visited waiting times for food and drink was kept to a minimum due to the hard work and efficiency of the staff. Food was delicious especially the fish pie. Lovely view over the channel from. The outside seating area and interesting nautical/maritime theme decoration on the inside of pub. Would highly recommend.”

  “We didn't stay. But what an brillant place to eat, loads on the menu. Pub grub. I had deli Scampi & chips which was quite adequate 5 big bits of scampi plenty of chips, salad & peas. My husband had fish pie, baguette & salad. Yesterday I had a ploughmans with stilton, ham & cheddar, my husband had battered fish finger baguette and CHIPS. They are so well organised. The food was really good. You order at the bar. It all comes out hot. The staff are amazing. We had to queue for a table inside, but there was lots of outside seating too. Well done to all the staff”

  “We stopped for a Meal in July. We tried to reserve a table - to which they explained, they only do walk-ins. We came early to beat the madding crowds, as we knew in advance it gets busy, having eaten here before previously. We both had the Fish and Chips. There was a short wait, to be expected. The food arrived hot, and great portion sizes! We really enjoyed the meal! The fish was fresh with lovely crispy batter! Highly recommended!”

  “We had such a wonderful experience at Steamer Restaurant! As a group of four who are all pure vegetarians, we were so happy to see that they offer both vegetarian and vegan menu options. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. The entire girls' team made us feel so comfortable, but a special thank you to Georgie and Summer for going above and beyond to look after us. We accidentally ordered potato wedges without realising they contained bacon. When the food arrived, we immediately informed the staff, and Georgie was so understanding. She quickly confirmed that they weren't suitable for us and, without any hesitation, had a fresh vegetarian portion prepared. That thoughtful gesture truly made our day. To top it off, they even gave us some extra jalapeños and chilli, which we really appreciated. The excellent customer service and genuine care they showed made our visit even more enjoyable. Thank you so much, Georgie, Summer, and the whole team! We truly appreciate your kindness and outstanding service. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be recommending Steamer Restaurant to our friends and family. We can't wait to visit again!”

  “The rooms are very clean, the views were breathtaking, the only but was that the rooms are a bit dated and were very hot. To be fair it was a very hot weekend. The breakfast was very good and supplied by a local butcher (I think). However by far the best thing about this place are the waitresses, who were super friendly and brilliant. Many thanks Geena (hope I spelled your name correct).”

  “Were aware that the Steamer served generous portions, but what did surprise us, especially for a big seafront pub, was the quality. Both the seafood chowder and tuna with chorizo and tomato sauce were delicious. Gives the impression of being a bit chaotic when you arrive on a busy summer's evening, but the service was excellent. Big, busy, but good!”

  “Didn't stay at the hotel. Went for dinner and it was lovely. Good food options for vegetarian and vegan diets, cooked excellently,hot and very good portions. Really enjoyed the meal and excellent value. Staff helpful and friendly. ( Didn't like the older customer jumping in just as we were going to order!)”

  “Absolutely fantastic the views and the food. Never had such delicious seafood in my life had the chefs seafood chowder. The service was very good would highly recommend. Don't take reservations but turn up before 6pm and you can't go wrong.”

  “I can not recommend this lovely place more , it is well placed for the beach. Has amazing staff that are more than helpful, they are friendly and welcoming. The menu is what I have come to expect from this small chain of public house that span across the island with nothing on it that will disappoint you, the Steamer seams to have a more fish focus menu , with seasonal fish available of a well thought out specials board, we come at least once every holiday and only limit our visits because we go to the sister pubs too .”
