About The Phoenix Cafe
The Phoenix Cafe is a cafe in Scunthorpe, on Selling Centre, where the XXL English Breakfast gives a very large portion for anyone arriving hungry. The standard cooked breakfast brings bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, mushrooms and thick toast. A Sunday dinner is served with home-made vegetables including parsnip, sprouts, carrots, green beans and broccoli. Yorkshire tea comes in mugs alongside the food. The counter staff will adjust or make items on request, and a sausage and bean bap is one example of what they will put together.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the cooked breakfast, singling out the XXL English Breakfast, a portion one diner could not finish, and a plate of bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, mushrooms and thick toast. Close behind is value, with many calling the prices hard to beat for the amount of food. A home-made Sunday dinner with parsnips, sprouts, carrots and broccoli also earns praise, and one reviewer notes proper Yorkshire tea served in mugs. Friendly staff come up repeatedly, and several mention the kitchen's willingness to adapt, including a sausage and bean bap made for a child and menu changes on request. One diner sat outside and found it a good spot. No recurring complaints appear in the reviews. Diners describe the place as a proper cafe, and one says they left feeling as full as a butcher's dog.

“I ordered the XXL English Breakfast, and it definitely lived up to its name! The portion was absolutely massive—I genuinely couldn’t finish it all. Everything was freshly cooked, tasty, and well presented. If you’ve got a big appetite, this is the breakfast to go for. Great value for the amount of food you get, and the staff were friendly too. I’ll definitely be back, but next time I’ll come even hungrier!”
