Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the generous, freshly made food, with the Sunday lunch turkey, the lasagne and the steak pie coming up repeatedly. Close behind are the stonebaked pizzas, baked in front of diners, and the burgers, chilli and surf and turf. Several describe big plates, home cooked chips and a service team that is friendly and welcoming. Motorhome and caravan club visitors mention eating here after staying nearby, and one was allowed to overnight in the car park and found it very quiet. Dog friendliness and the covered beer garden come up more than once, and one diner says the beer selection is decent. One family held a wake here and credits a staff member's care with allergies and intolerances. No reviewer raises a complaint. A New Year guest closes on the annual tug of war event they returned to watch on New Year's Day.

“Found the pub in Britstops which is a pub stopover for motorhomes. Lady on the phone was so lovely and welcoming when we asked to stay and have food. Turned up 7th Aug and was greeted by a lovely and welcoming team. Food was lovely and tastey especially the chilli, the kids and hubbie had burgers and a cheese n ham toastie. Went back for dinner and as I was still full from lunch so had a tuna jacket potato, hubbie and youngest had hunters chicken. The food is freshly made to order, table next to us had a stonebaked pizza and it looked lovely - better than the domino's we had during the week. The pub has little rooms everywhere, totally dog friendly and had a covered beer garden. One of the rooms they were making decorations for an event going on in the village which looked fun but we are on the move i would have asked to stay on. Overnight it was very quiet and it was the best night's sleep we've had since arriving in Yorkshire from London due to the winds and rain. Thank you for letting us stay in the car park it was really appreciated, you have such a lovely team and a lovely pub”

“Well, I can find fault with tap water. However, just been for tea. 2 pints & lasagne each. First, service, lovely welcome, picked a seat. Server gave us a minute, came back we ordered & paid. Food was great, plenty for someone with a large appetite. Faultless food. Great prices & service. Highly recommended.”

“The family recently held a wake here and we could not have been happier with the friendly, helpful and efficient service from start to finish. Lydia was extremely kind and compassionate. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was excellent and plentiful. Her attention to detail concerning allergies and intolerances was outstanding. As a family we really cannot thank her or her staff enough.”
