About Scarborough Arms
Scarborough Arms is a family-run locals pub on North Terrace in Scarborough, now under new management. The bar pours cask ales and beers on tap, and cocktails and happy hour drink offers are also on the list. The kitchen is not serving food during the change of management, so guests can bring takeaway food from elsewhere and eat it inside with a drink. Food is planned for the new year. The pub opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers single out the bar staff above everything else, describing them as friendly and welcoming, with one saying they felt like a friend from the moment they walked in. One bartender gave a diner two separate 10% discounts after hearing about a wife's birthday and a weekend concert. Close behind is the drinks: a pint of Staropramen, a couple of cask ales, and a "Cowsheed" that one visitor was recommended, plus happy hour offers on drinks and cocktails. Several call the pub clean and well decorated, with one noting an old world charm and another a good music playlist. One reviewer wished for hand pulled ale. Food is the recurring gap. Several note it is not currently served under new management, and one who did eat said the chips and onion rings were cold and the fish batter greasy, and that no one asked how the meal was or offered a pudding as at other tables. Another reviewer was recommended a nearby pub for its Sunday carvery, and a family run owner let one party bring in a takeaway.

“Lovely pub under new management. As of May 2026 not doing food but hope to later in the year. Lots of Danny friendly beers on tap. Friendly welcome 🙏🏻 so go and support this historic hostelry, I certainly will be 👏🏼”

“You can't fault the staff here, they're so friendly and welcoming. You're made to feel like a friend the minute you walk through the door. Visited twice in a day, the same staff were on but you never got the impression they just wanted to serve you and on to the next. A couple of cask ales to choose from, though when visited in June 2026, no food had been available for a number of months.”

“Although it doesn't serve food at the moment it's well worth popping in for a drink or two, the bar starf are great. We went in expecting to eat but we had a great recommendation for the "Cowsheed" so we popped back in on day two of our visit to Scarborough, on ordering our drinks I let it slip that it's my wife's birthday, when the bar staff found this out he gave us 10% discount 😊 On ordering our second drinks he ask what we was doing for the weekend and after telling him we were going to a concert at the open air theater he gave us another 10%. Great pud will definitely go back 👍😁”
