Quick info
About ASDA Cafe
ASDA Cafe is a cafe inside an Asda supermarket at 90 George Richards Way in Altrincham, open daily. It sits within the store, so shoppers can stop for a meal during a supermarket trip. The menu includes breakfasts served with beans and toast, as well as pizza and chips. A pensioner deal includes soup, which gives older customers a set option. A kids' meal deal comes with chips and a drink, so families shopping with children can order a meal for them in the same visit.

Reviewers credit the low prices, especially the kids' meal deal, but service dominates the complaints. “The kids' meal deal is highly affordable, but unfortunately, the service was quite disappointing. The staff forgot to include the drink with the meal until we pointed it out. To make matters worse, when my child needed a second packet of ketchup for their chips, we were refused and told we had to pay extra. While I understand it's a promotional price, this rigid approach and penny-pinching over a bit of sauce made us feel very unwelcome. Great value, but poor customer experience.”

“I recently visited the ASDA Cafe during the busy lunch period. On the positive side, the food was good and the prices were decent, offering good value for a supermarket cafe. However, the entire experience was completely overshadowed by operational issues. At what should have been peak lunchtime, there was hardly any hot food available or actively being prepared.Crucially, the young staff were visibly overwhelmed and struggling. I observed clear signs of stress and even found a staff member in the back area who was clearly upset and unable to cope with the situation. This is not a criticism of their effort, but a sign of a serious management and resource problem. The cafe needs urgent attention in terms of staffing levels, training, and operational support to ensure stock is maintained during peak hours and the employees are supported. I hope management addresses this soon, as the good quality food deserves better operational execution.”

“Used to take the kids here before shopping for pizza and chips on a Saturday occasionally, the Pizza was genuinely very very good, so we're the chips, haven't been for over a year or more, went today and everything has changed, worst pizza I've had in a long time, just cheese on a pizza base, barely any sauce on it at all, absolutely no flavour, and it was smaller too, and the fries are now fat claggy dry chips, won't be eating there again, a real shame as it was so much better before they changed hands.”

“Food lukewarm…did inform a member of staff who said oh and walked away”

“Great service and very helpful staff. I am a regular visitor, sometimes to get lunch and sometimes to place larger orders for my office. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Libby, Tilly, Beka and Ivan for helping with my most recent large order.”
