About The Golden Lion Pub
The Golden Lion Pub sits on High Street in Saint Ives, a traditional pub that welcomes walk-ins and opens its doors to dogs. Under new ownership, the kitchen now serves proper pub-style food, with a Sunday roast of roast potatoes and gravy drawing a regular crowd. The team looks after large groups with ease, and music plays through the room, setting a relaxed backdrop for the evenings. Music bingo nights bring a different kind of energy, turning the space into a social hub for regulars and visitors alike. Food and drink are ordered at the bar in classic pub fashion, and the atmosphere stays informal and approachable throughout the week.

“Nice local pub. Staff friendly. Food served awful. Chips limp and dry. Pie meat was ok, pastry - not quite sure about that as it was the thinnest 'thing' and certainly not a pie crust.Mash looked like it had been scrapped off of another's plate, dry, crispy and looked inedible. Gravy was a congealed blob with lumps. And the veg on the menu didn't arrive. Garlic bread soggy, salad limp. All this we waited for an hour to be served. We were also asked to pay upfront, so we know why now.”

“Came here last week while the world cup was on, it was the first time I'd ever stepped foot in the pub, it definitely won't be the last, this place really caught me by surprise - I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, I just didn't know how good it actually was until I experienced it for myself. The food was really good, great portion sizes too, the staff were brilliant they really make you feel welcomed and they go to that extra mile to make your experience here more enjoyable, the atmosphere was great also with the world cup being on, plenty of locals and others visiting on their holidays just having a great time. The music bingo nights that they do here are really fun, some of the best in the town I reckon, hope they can keep it going or even do it more often, I'll definitely be returning here whenever I'm in St Ives”
