Customer Review Summary
Croquettes come up most, from rabbit and short beef to bone marrow and a version with harissa hot honey, though one diner found the bone marrow ones a bit salty. Close behind are the sticky toffee pudding, described as warm and rich, and the tender mussels, with the truffle fries called crispy and addictive. Others praise the grilled bouillabaisse, a ribeye with beef dripping chips, lamb, and oyster mushroom tempura. Not everything landed. One couple found the beef skewers a little tough, though staff told them a fillet version was coming, and the burger is served well done only. Another diner noted service was a bit slow between starters and mains. Reviewers describe friendly, welcoming staff who handled young children and a potentially serious food allergy well, and a party of twelve without a booking was seated outdoors under a heater. Several anniversary diners were surprised with a complimentary drink or glass of wine at the table.

“5/5 Stars (If I could give more, I would!) We came to The Longstore Charlestown for our anniversary evening, and they went above and beyond to make it special. If there were more than 5 stars, they’d get them! The food was delicious, we enjoyed every single bite. The portions were really filling, but the presentation was so beautiful that I had to order dessert too, and it was lovely! The cocktails were amazing (both my husband and I loved ours), and the service was absolute perfection. The team made us feel so looked after all night and even brought us a complimentary glass of wine to celebrate, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you want a fantastic meal with a proper restaurant vibe, you need to go here. They made our anniversary unforgettable, and we can’t recommend them enough! To all the staff that waited on us and looked after us tonight, we just really appreciate you. We made memories here tonight, and we're so grateful.”

“It’s wonderful dinner. Thanks so much with warmheart arrangement. We (12ppls) didn’t book in and staff asked us to sit at downstairs outdoor with heater. We stayed there with comfortable environment . The mussels and bread are incredibly delicious. My children love the crispy fries , mac and cheese and the flat iron beef. The attitude of staff is excellent. We are lucky to have such nice dinner in Longstore seafood.”

“Chloe our waitress was brilliant. Came and showcased the menu. Brilliant service made sure we were looked after at all times. Best steak in Cornwall! Thanks again Chloe.”

“Had a really nice dinner. Food was very tasty and there were good vegetarian options. My wife had oyster mushroom tempura as a starter. It looked spectacular and apparently tasted gorgeous. I had lamb as a main course. It was one of the tastiest things I had had in a while. The salad I had with it was also great. Service was a bit slow between the starters and the mains. It didn't bother us but it might some people. The place was busy but not noisy and it had a really nice feel overall.”

“We had a fantastic meal here while visiting Cornwall. Every dish was beautifully presented and clearly made with care. The standout for me was the truffle fries. I eat truffle fries everywhere I go, and these were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had—crispy, loaded with flavor, and absolutely addictive. We also tried the bone marrow croquettes. They were very tasty and rich, though a bit on the salty side. We found that eating them alongside some chips balanced everything perfectly and made for a great combination. The only dish that missed the mark for us was the beef skewers. The meat was a little tough, but after speaking with the staff we learned they are switching to a fillet version, which should be a huge improvement and much more tender by the time future guests visit. For anyone considering the burger, be aware that it is served well done only. We prefer our burgers cooked differently, so we opted for other menu items instead. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect ending to the meal—warm, rich, and indulgent without being overly sweet. Overall, excellent food, great atmosphere, and a menu that showcases local Cornish ingredients. We’d happily return and would definitely order those truffle fries again!”
