Customer Review Summary
Seafood platters and sharers draw the most praise. One couple called theirs the best they have had on holiday or abroad, and another said the portion suited two. Mussels as a starter and the seafood linguine are also named, and the seafood is described as fresh alongside local beers. Close behind are the burgers, with one reviewer noting lots of bacon and lots of chips and another calling it one of the best they have eaten. Reviewers describe the room as light and airy, relaxed and dog friendly, with a garden for summer, and the staff as attentive, friendly and quick. The complaints are small but specific. The haddock and chips came a touch dry, the whitebait was heavy on the deep fry and not soft inside, and on a busy Father's Day the Sunday roasts had run out. One reviewer suggests booking early after seeing people turned away. Desserts such as the raspberry and toffee pavlova arrived looking too good to eat, and one family says the staff made their son feel special on his birthday.

“Doggie friendly and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food was excellent and we were able to get in with a last minute booking. Book early though as people being turned away whilst we were there as obviously popular 😊”

“Rustic restaurant for our dinner date. It's a bright place and staff are very welcoming. I had the seafood linguine and we opted for the strange asparagus (not a fan) and white bait for starters which was a little heavy on the deep fry, they weren't very soft on the inside, perhaps a personal preference. Overall it was good”

“Absolutely top service and quality food for dinner. As a couple, we had a seafood sharer for mains and then raspberry and toffee pavlova for dessert. Honestly, the service was polite and incredibly quick. We were in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour.”

“Best eatery around. All staff were attentive and had excellent humour. Staff all clearly love working here which is rare among Cornish hospitality places. All food was exquisite in our party of 4 . Attention to detail in terms of skills and presentation. Great chef who we had a laugh with upon his exit who clearly takes Pride in people’s enjoyment of his food and enjoys a banter and a joke with the customers . Lovely laid back place where dogs are welcome. Fantastic varied menu to suit everyone. We will be back. They made my son feel very special on his birthday . All other places selling food of this standard are charging considerably more . This is a hidden gem for its relaxed atmosphere and excellent service”
