  “Me and my husband are sat having a quiet drink. An older woman (whom we know) has come in, she tells us she visits regularly. The waiting staff and bar man have treated her like an absolute queen. They have escorted her to her table, brushed off the rain, served her a gorgeous dish of ‘her regular prawns’ and a glass of wine. Then stayed and chatted to her. This kind of service is wonderful to see, not the crowds of young people, just the extra care and attention for our vulnerable people. Olive Lounge have brought a tear to my eye tonight. Thank you 🩷🩷”

  “Would not advise going here for bottomless brunch. Cocktails absolutely fine and service good for these. However we paid 50 pounds each to upgrade to the meat tapas and note the picture of what we received. A plate of grease- chorizo and pork belly then flat bread on top (which I think is one of those frozen kind of ones). See image of plate received that looks like it was thrown together. We barely ate any of it/ some friends didn’t touch anything. Our stomachs also felt not great immediately after to a couple days after- we’re putting this down to the amount of grease. We emailed and complained and they offered us 25 percent off food which is not ideal as we don’t really want to go back for more food… We didn’t realise how bad it was at the time as we were of course merry from the drinks and only immediately after we were like none of us ate any of that and it cost 50 pounds! We spent about 330 pounds between us all and we just expected better unfortunately. It’s cheaper to do the 2-4-1 cocktails- feel like we wasted our money :( they also sit you downstairs to have the brunch which is not ideal- we were all on different size stools and had no space- when there was loads of space upstairs where we could have all sat together.”

  “Oh dear, what was once a place to head for is now one to avoid. No longer serving food in the bar area (even though they're empty??!) and the beer is now truly awful. Apparently overpriced now too.”

  “First time here but not the last. Food was excellent, we were in a large party but the staff were fantastic. Plenty of choices and it was 2 for 1 cocktail night.”

  “Tapas night! Never again! Been here for all our family functions over the years but this last visit great disappointment! Hand scribbled out menues, £2 supplement on beef brisket, could. It make head not Talmud the system. Wasn’t explained either . We arrived a. It earlier and waited with drinks downstairs and been told they get us. When the time came nobody came and we went upstairs to be sat down. Quality of food was good as usual, but Menue choice, tapas system and service very poor! Shame, used to love the place! Internet says new ownership, jointly owned with W Italian up the road?!? Not sure if the new owner ( since end 2025) wants to improve or sabotage it! ???”

  “My partner and I had a great time. The food was delicious, the I had a strawberry Mojito which was honestly the best cocktail I've ever had. I am a wheelchair user and called them the day before to ask about accessibility and book, which wasn't an issue. The service was excellent, all of the waiters and waitresess were very friendly, welcoming and professional. My partner and I will definitely go again and we would definitely recommend The olive lounge.”

  “I’ve been a regular visitor to Olive Lounge, but my recent experience was nothing short of a shock—and not the good kind. It seems the "new normal" here is charging premium prices for what feels like a tapas-sized portion of disappointment. The Great Rib Robbery The most glaring issue is the blatant "shrinkflation" on the menu. Last year, ordering the ribs meant getting five substantial, meaty ribs. This time? I was served a single, small rib. It’s genuinely bold to serve a fraction of the previous portion while simultaneously hiking the price. Value for Money? Non-Existent It’s not just the ribs; everything is smaller. Across the board, portions have been scaled back significantly, yet the bill has moved in the opposite direction. To make matters worse, several dishes now carry supplemental charges, making an already expensive meal feel like a series of hidden "gotchas." Speed Over Quality There is such a thing as service being too fast. Our food arrived almost immediately after ordering, which is usually a red flag. Given the lack of depth in flavor and the lightning speed of the kitchen, it’s hard not to suspect that the meals are precooked or frozen and simply reheated. It lacked that "fresh from the pan" quality you expect when paying these prices. The Bottom Line: Olive Lounge used to be a reliable spot in Wickersley, but the current strategy of "charging more for less" is a recipe for losing loyal customers. Between the tiny portions and the questionable freshness, it’s unfortunately no longer worth the visit. Save your money and go somewhere that still values its patrons”
