About The Garrison
The Garrison is a restaurant on Bawtry Rd in Rotherham, open Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Mondays and Sundays. The menu follows a three-course structure of starters, mains, and desserts, drawn from a 54-dish list that includes Chicken Supreme and Sticky Toffee Pudding, alongside a cocktail list. Orders are taken table-side by a server. Indoor seating is limited given the size of the room, and benches outside offer additional seating for outdoor dining. The entrance is step-free, suiting visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Dogs are welcome on site. Reservations are recommended given the limited capacity indoors.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently praise the food quality, with the rotating three-course menu drawing repeat visits and standouts like the starters, mains and desserts described as "to die for" alongside the Sticky Toffee Pudding style desserts and a well-regarded wine and Ales selection. Several call out the staff as attentive and helpful, including one account of the team handling allergies well, and one diner recounts a "Come Dine With Me" winner nod. The atmosphere is repeatedly called cosy and relaxed, with the small size cited as part of the appeal, though one reviewer notes the outdoor bench seating is narrow and uncomfortable for longer sits. Several reviewers advise booking ahead given the limited space. Diners close out describing repeat visits and firm intentions to return.

“This is the 2nd time we have all eaten here and not disappointed The food is always great and the atmosphere is also good just general chat from other people eating so no rowdy business The 1st time we sat inside and the seating is comfortable The 2nd time we sat outside the benches are okay however not comfortable for a long period of time they could do with been wider to offer more butt space as felt like I was just sitting on the end of the seat as not enough with on the seat However didn't put a dampner on how good the food and drink was The host are genuinely top notch lads so polite and helpful will definitely be eating here again”

“I really enjoy coming to The Garrison. I love that they have a rotating three-course menu as it gives you something different to try each time you visit. The food is always really good, nicely presented and great value for the quality. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly and attentive. I’d honestly say it’s one of the best places to eat in Wickersley.”

“How you want a restaurant to be. Small and cosy. Feels comforting. Service was great - I didn’t catch the guys name but he was caring and attentive and clearly involved. The food was excellent. The price was correct. We were there tonight, and I hope to come back. Book ahead as it’s small and you should Secure your place. Independent venues like this don’t just supply a great experience, they keep the hospitality industry a staple of our culture (I realise it sounds as if I work here… I very much don’t! It’s just very good)”
