Customer Review Summary

The main complaints concern timing and execution. One family reports a child's yaki soba arriving long after everyone else's meal, a starter coming after the mains, no cutlery and a forgotten bill, with a manager they found dismissive. Another says a chicken and prawn yaki soba arrived with no chicken or prawns, then received a modest plate of protein that was stirred into lukewarm noodles. A third calls the veg gyozas stodgy and the mains short on sauce. Even a busy-night reviewer notes dishes coming out at different times, yet adds that the manager steps in to take orders and check that all is well.

“It was crazy busy. More so than I ever saw it. But still the service was personal and excellent. We waited longer but there were people waiting out the door. The manager is top notch and steps in to take an order and always makes sure all is ok. The few servers were working really hard and delivering orders that come out at different times adds to the pressure at for them at Wagas. The food is always reliable.”

“The main stir-fry was packed with tender chicken, perfectly balanced spicy-sweet sauce, and fresh crunchy veg – beautifully presented with that neat rice mound and lime touch, such care taken! 🥘 The crispy bites were wonderfully golden and crunchy, paired with a creamy, cool dip and fresh pickles that cut through the richness perfectly. Even the small bites and prawn crackers were full of flavour and so thoughtfully put together. Staff were lovely and attentive, food arrived quickly, and everything tasted fresh, hot, and full of wonderful flavours. Would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to come back! 🤤✨”

“Went for Monday lunch, I’m guessing it was the chef’s day off and the person cooking hadn’t been trained on quantities of ingredients for each dish as our 3 mains were all less good than usual and lacking in sauce and flavour. Service was not great considering how quiet it was. The veg gyozas were horribly stodgy and lacking in veg.”

“Actually had the best experience tonight, really wasn't expecting much, food was sublime, wait times non existent, the service though. Just oh my gosh, our greeter was super chill, our server Chelsea was really herself and made us feel very comfortable and cared for and then for pudding, I had literally the best conversation with a lovely young chap called Evan, who put alot of care and attention into making our 🥹dinner a truly memorable experience, what a credit to wagamama, great salesman too we were just about to order his reccomended pudding when we realised we had to dash for the football, thanks wagas reigate ♥️”

“We visited this Wagamama branch expecting the usual standard of service, as it has previously been one of our go-to places. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing. One of my child’s meals, yaki soba, the same type of dish as the rest of ours arrived far later than everyone else’s food for no apparent reason. I mentioned this to the waiter but nothing was done to resolve the issue or even acknowledge the inconvenience. To make matters worse, our starter only arrived after we had already finished our mains and had to ask where it was. Even after waiting around for a long time, my other child’s food still had not arrived while the rest of us had completely finished eating. By this point, we had been waiting around for over an hour. I then asked to speak to the manager, hoping the situation would finally be handled professionally. Unfortunately, the manager — the gentleman with Rastafarian-style hair — was even more disappointing than the wait staff. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the poor service and no attempt to resolve the issue properly. I explained calmly that I understood dishes can arrive at slightly different times but waiting nearly an hour while everyone else had finished eating was unacceptable. His response was dismissive and unprofessional repeatedly saying, “yeah, it can come at different times, yeah, yeah, yeah,” which came across very aggressive and street like rather than listening or addressing the concern appropriately. The attitude and handling of the situation from both the waiter and manager were extremely rude and unprofessional throughout. Customer service is about communication, accountability and resolving issues properly, and none of that happened here. Not to forget to mention there were no cutlery, we had to grab it ourselves as waited too long to have some. They never asked us if everything was okay. We asked for the bill and waited around for so long, the waiter again clearly forgot. Nobody even bothered to ask him by we’re still there, could ask if we wanted dessert or remember to bring the bill- nothing. In the end, we had to use the QR code to pay even though we wanted to pay cash. This used to be one of our regular places to visit, but after this experience, we will avoid this branch in future and will be sharing our experience with others. A shame as the shorter black girl was an absolute sweetheart, had she served us rather than just sitting us- it would’ve been different.”
