Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out generous portions, with the set breakfast and a bacon and halloumi dish named as filling and well made. Several describe the food as fresh, hot and delicious, and a few praise friendly, quick service and a good atmosphere. Others say the staff are the weak point. Several describe waiters as passive aggressive, and one says friends who met after years apart felt rushed and watched by staff pacing around their table well before closing. Complaints about the kitchen are more scattered. One reviewer found the omelette burnt and a frappuccino with an off taste that was not taken off the bill, another had overcooked, hard fries with a panini, and another had undercooked food. Two reviewers also felt overcharged, one over tap water that was reportedly swapped for bottled. Some who come back for the food say the coffee and the welcome let it down, and one says the place has gone downhill. Praise for the portions sits beside accounts of staff who would not clear a table or remove a disliked drink.

“I'd give this place a lovely 4 stars, it does everything well. The staff were lovely and they had a crazy amount of choice, so you definitely won't have a hard time deciding what you want. Despite the terrible photo I had a lovely bacon and halloumi and it was perfectly filled, and everyone else had a set breakfast, the portion sizes are very generous and I found the halloumi and the bacon to be class. I wouldn't however say it was outstanding, but it was great. I'd highly recommend you to try this place!”

“Been here a couple of times now having moved to the area, thought after the first time I'd try again but no it's poor. Passive aggressive, older female staff who obviously do not want to be there and make you feel unwelcome ,or clueless youngsters. Really awful coffee, poor food and they tried to overcharge me the second time I went there. Go elsewhere.”

“I do enjoy the food here .. which is why I have returned .. BUT .. the staff are very passive aggressive.. it’s an effort to smile or be attentive whilst serving .. they really could do with having a look at all these reviews.. because many people feel the same way… it’s an effort to be friendly.. it does not feel like a happy working environment or maybe they just no longer enjoy their work.. and it rubs off on the customers… I also feel that the customers are rushed even when they are not busy.. my friends and I met here after not seeing eachother in years and we felt pressured to leave straight after eating .. so to be polite kept ordering drinks .. the place had emptied out .. it was 3.30 … they close at 5pm we couldn’t understand why the constant pacing around our table .. it felt uncomfortable!”

“I have yet to have a bad experience here. The food is fresh, hot and a good size. The image is a set 8 with extras. Safe to say that will see me through the day. Service is always quick and staff are very attentive when needed. Never had an experience where it was noisy or uncomfortable.”

“This place used to be really good, but sadly it has gone downhill dramatically. The omelette was burnt, and the frappuccino tasted completely off. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she told me it was because I hadn’t added sugar. I explained that the issue wasn’t the sweetness, but that the ice cream had an unpleasant, off taste. I left it up to her whether she felt it was appropriate to continue serving it, but despite the fact that I barely drank it and she could clearly see it had been left untouched, it was not removed from the bill. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the experience and definitely wouldn’t return. It’s also very expensive to pay £49 for what was, unfortunately, a meal of such poor quality.”
