  “The food was only warm and some items like mashed potatoes were cold. We were one of the first to get our carvery at12 noon. So should be piping hot!!!”

  “Me and my friend went here for a nice dinner after work, we got greeted nicely, although It went downhill from there. I ordered food from the bar and the bartender made it seem that it was a such an inconvenience to him. I personally thought he was unpatient, snappy and quite rude, he didnt ask me if i had any food intolerances or allergies which is is quite dangerous serving food to customers. In the end, I got my pepsi and coke... the food took around 20 minutes (which we didnt mind as they were busy) But... the food came, it was nearly cold. The chips were slightly underdone, and the burgers that we ordered had no flavour, and also the bread seemed to be stale. However. Food wasnt good, hopefully it was a one time thing as they were busy. But I shall not be coming again. To sum it up. I spent £31 on 1 pint of pepsi & a can of coke... and two cold underwhelming burgers and chips. Wouldn't recommend coming here for food.”

  “A great carvery! First time visiting and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is cheerful and inviting as is the size and design of the interior. Everything seemed organised. Plenty of staff on shift. It was busy considering it was a Monday evening. Whilst choosing food at the carvery counter, Chef was very hospitable ensuring replenishment. Staff also checked in on the table. There is outside seating with a small park/playing area for kids. I would definitely recommend a visit and I will visit again.”

  “We went for food recently on a Sunday. The team working there were friendly and helpful and the food was good. I wouldn't go back this time of year though. We were miserably hot on our table with no outside door to let in the breeze. We asked to be moved to a cooler section but there were no tables. I didn't feel I could complain when the poor staff were working in the heat. The staff were so approachable and hard working.”

  “Myself and my wife have just moved to the area and we were advised that this was the best place for a carvery. I'm happy to say that they were right. We got seated straight away for our booking even though we were a little early. The staff across the team from bar staff to the kitchen staff were lovely and attentive. It was great to see such a family friendly atmosphere. The food is well above the quality and flavour you expect from a carvery so it shows that real care has been put into the food. We will be recommending this place to all of our friends in the area and will 110% be back soon.”

  “Wanted to try breakfast here for some time and certainly was not disappointed. Lots of choices on the menu but I went for my favourite......... eggs benefict. The poached eggs were perfect, the bacon crispy and the hollandaise delicious, if anyone little too generous for my taste. My companion had the crushed avocado with poached eggs, sour dough toast and crispy bacon. Again delicious with perfect poached eggs. These were under £6 each! Excellent value. I would highly recommend the Golden Goose as a breakfast venue and will certainly be returning.”

  “Great place, lovely, friendly staff! Easy parking. Great 'pub grub' (and the Carvery is a particular favourite of mine! Chef is always adding nice things, which makes it a little more special then usual peas, carrots n spuds! The meat has always be good, whatevers on offer too! Its also reasonably priced! Hemce why, we go back, time after time! This area is short of good, everyday type eating out places in you ask me, affordable, relaxed, decent food, the kind of thing you fancy doing just any time, for a quick bite to eat, without breaking the bank! We're often quite surprised how quiet it has been in the week, aa its lovely, but, this is a bonus for me personally, as i hate the feeling or over crowded, overly noisy places, or being packed in and shipped out! However, i do suggest booking quickly before you want to go, especially on weekends to ensure a table then! All in all, a cracking little place (pub with great food, well priced. Simple”

  “A group of us had the carvery very reasonable. For dessert my partner and I had the Christmas pudding, frankly an insult it’s difficult to believe the portions could be so unbelievably tiny. We were told this is what they normally serve. They offered me the money back, I refused because the purpose of review is to help people make informed choices.”

  “The carvery was delicious except for the sprouts, they were rock hard I couldn't get my fork in them so I had to leave them. If I'd thrown one at someone it would knock them out ! The Christmas decorations were lovely.”

  “We went with a coach party with kings norton coaches. Food was fresh and delicious all served warm and the price of £12 was amazing. Staff was so friendly and helpful nothing was to much for them the service was so fast and quick I hope the lady serving has a rest she was so brilliant very welcoming. Tables clean and tidy all old plates taken away fast. Toilets very clean and spotless. Told kings norton coaches to pick you for other trips you should be so proud of what you have achieved in your pub 👏 😀”
