Customer Review Summary

Steak is the most frequent draw at Banners, with reviewers praising a ribeye, a Saturday steak offer and a garlic mushroom starter. Close behind are the sizzling chicken, called delicious by one diner, and burgers with quality patties and especially good fries. One reviewer singles out the burnt pork belly, Chinese chicken and wings from a starter board, and another praises a full English breakfast that is customisable. Staff are described as friendly, including one team that handled vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free orders, and several reviewers say food came out quickly. Prices are called fair or decent value, with no added service charge. A Harry Potter themed evening drew praise for dishes and drinks named after the books and themed paper under the food. The main complaint concerns draught beer, which one reviewer calls flat and smelly, saying a lager barrel had a fault the previous week and that it is not the first time. The same reviewer notes the sizzler meals do not sizzle. Reviewers close on a lovely evening out, with one steak diner saying nothing was left to dislike.

“Lovely setting, pleasant atmosphere with great artwork on the walls. The friendliest of staff helped with our orders including one vegetarian teen, a gluten-free teen and my gluten-free and dairy-free wife. We all very much enjoyed our meals.”

“Food is generally of a good standard so no issue there (albeit the sizzler meals don’t sizzle). Draught beer is consistently woeful, flat and smells, apparently the floating ball dropped into barrel of Hawkstone lager last week. Not the first time, they don’t seem capable of knowing how to look after the cellar/ pour it. So… more fool me for ordering it and expecting a better result! Shame really, Bremis draught lager is a billion times better.”
