About Micky's Chippy
Micky's Chippy is a chip shop and takeaway restaurant at 86 Beoley Rd W in Redditch that pairs fish-and-chip fare with a full Chinese takeaway menu. Chips sit on the menu next to the Chinese dishes, so one order can cover both. The Chinese side includes spare ribs and fried rice, with special fried rice and Yeung Chow fried rice among the options. Curry is also on offer, from curry sauce with chips to a house special curry. Food is packed in takeaway containers. The shop opens Tuesday to Sunday, evenings only, and is closed on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split sharply, and the Chinese takeaway is where the praise centers. Fans single out the special fried rice, spicy hot salted crispy beef on Yeung Chow fried rice, and sesame prawn toasts. Regulars of over 30 years say the food is always delicious and reasonably priced, and one calls it the only place for proper Chinese and real chips. Close behind, reviewers mention lovely staff. The criticism is concrete and comes from several reviewers. Chips are described as greasy and undercooked, and one first-timer who liked the food still would skip them. Others report burnt spare ribs, burnt sweet and sour balls, rock hard dry rice, a powdery house special curry, stale prawn crackers, and sauces on four different dishes tasting the same. One long-time customer says the shop has gone downhill. Another, told there was no gravy, found the curry sauce runnier than water and the sausage grim, and all three meals ordered ended up in a bin down the road.

“NEW REVIEW still fantastic but last review they had says they are closed.. I’ve reported it he had a knee op! Open and full operational! Back to fantastic food lovely staff. Good prices. Updated my post with menu open sign and opening hours! THEY ARE OPEN! Beautiful traditional Chinese! Love their food! Just something about them makes it taste great! Added their menu so can see what to order. Special fried rice is amazing!”

“Tried this today for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. Found the food lovely and will definitely return. My only issue is the standard of chips, usually a favourite elsewhere, but I would skip from here.”

“You know it's a great place because it's survived in an awkward to get to part of town for DECADES... soo well worth the effort. The best chippy in the town! Chinese is divine too! The only place to get proper Chinese nosh AND REAL chips! Highly recommended.”

“Been going here for 40+ years, visited today for 1st time in 10 years. UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED. Rotten food, stale prawn crackers, BURNT spare ribs, sauces on 4 different dishes ALL THE SAME. Time to retire. Shop, pub opposite and area all gone down hill. Time to retire!”
