About The Terrace Plymouth
The Terrace Plymouth is a clifftop waterfront cafe on Madeira Rd, set above the beach with ocean views. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along for a meal or a drink. The menu covers breakfast and brunch as well as small plates that work as a lunch, with nachos and a chicken wrap among the dishes. Hot chocolate and cake are also on offer. Orders and payment go through a QR code printed on each table, or at the till. The cafe was recently refurbished and now has a proper inside space and toilets. Most tables seat four or eight. Groups can book a brunch by reservation with pre-ordering.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the view over the beach, with the recently refurbished space and its new indoor seating and toilets coming up repeatedly alongside it. The chicken wrap, the nachos, small plates that work as a lunch, and hot chocolate with cake get named as highlights, and several describe attentive, polite servers, with one group brunch handled smoothly from reservation to pre-ordering. Price is the most common complaint: pints are described as expensive, and one diner found lunch for one excessive. Ordering by the table QR code draws criticism for being fiddly, needing a name, phone number and email, and handling changes badly, so one suggests ordering at the till. A few report a wait to be acknowledged, cramped corners, and few small tables for solo diners. Two lower ratings cite a stale, hard red velvet cake and a breakfast with under and overcooked items and clumpy beans that looked microwaved. One birthday visit ended with the cake offered on the house.

“Relatively good, nice atmosphere. Food was great. Male server spoke to you as if you were below him, had a noticeable ego. The female servers were very kind and lovely though to make up for it. Would have given 5 stars service othetwise. Food was great, but red velvet was stale and hard. otherwise main food was great. Atmosphere was great apart from the corners being cramped due to excess tables, though one could argue that’s not athnosphere related.”

“Held my mum's 70th birthday brunch at The Terrace for 13 family and friend members. The whole team were so attentive, from the reservation and pre ordering process to on the day when serving us. Food was amazing and on such a beautiful and warm day the views were stunning and the temperature while we ate was just right. Thank you to Steve and his team.”

“I came in this afternoon with a friend for a hot chocolate and cake to celebrate his 80th birthday. The staff were excellent being attentive and caring. They didn't charge for the cake and when queried said it was on the house for his birthday. What a lovely gesture. A very nice venue, lovely staff and beautiful views. Thank you.”
