About The Park Pavilion Café Devonport
Set in the middle of Devonport Park, The Park Pavilion Café Devonport is a cafe with seating indoors and out, so walkers can eat in the open air. Cooked breakfasts are served all day, and the rest of the menu runs through sandwiches, paninis and baguettes, hot or cold, with chips coming as a side to the cooked plates. Homemade cakes round out the counter, where coffees and drinks are ordered. There is no booking, so customers simply walk in. Dogs are welcome, which makes the cafe a workable stop after a walk through the park, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance lets visitors with mobility needs get in and out easily. The doors open daily, and ice creams are sold alongside the main menu.

Customer Review Summary
Cooked breakfast is the main draw, with reviewers praising perfect eggs, a bacon and egg bap on soft bread, and a wait of about ten minutes. Homemade cakes come close behind, called delicious, and a spicy garlic chicken with chips also earns praise. Several mention friendly staff and competitive prices, and the park setting suits dogs and families, though one notes it gets loud on busy days. Complaints centre on consistency. One reviewer received a chicken and pesto panini toasted rock hard, and says a staff member rolled her eyes rather than apologised. Another waited forty minutes for a cheese omelette while the coffees arrived cold. A cream tea came with salted melted butter after the clotted cream ran out, and a long-time regular says portions have shrunk and the chips are overcooked. One reviewer describes everything as very dirty. Both the panini and omelette orders ended in a refund.

“Mixed experience today. I ordered a chicken and pesto panini which was separate to the toasted options on the menu but it came out toasted. In fact it was toasted to within an inch of its life and was rock hard. I struggled to cut into it and after 2 bites where I feared my teeth would break I sent it back. The staff all had major attitudes and not one of them apologised. In fact the lady who came out of the kitchen rolled her eyes and blamed it on the toaster. She also told me ALL panini's are toasted which is false. This needs to be in the description or in the toasted sandwiches section so the customer is aware. I ordered a sandwich instead and got a full refund but that was after I paid for the sandwich. The staff were also loudly taking about me bringing the panini back as the side window to the cafe was open and I could hear every word. So unprofessional. However, the sandwich was quite nice and it's such a shame that the first order has put me off using the cafe for food as it's such a lovely setting. I won't be ordering anything except a drink next time.”

“I would not recommend this place which is sad as we have been going there for years but it has so gone downhill lately. Stopped with husband. He ordered a cheeseburger. I ordered a cheese omelette and chips. We also ordered two coffees. The coffees arrived cold. The cheeseburger arrived. Forty minutes later I was still waiting for my omelette. Eventually gave up and got a refund and left. The cafe was very quiet so there was no reason for the delay. When asked they told me the griddle was off and it took ages for it to heat up! Omelettes can be made in a pan!! Also noticed that the lights in the cafe are caked with dust. It really needs a sort out.”
