Customer Review Summary
Views over Plymouth Sound are the draw reviewers raise most, with several calling them stunning and noting the cliff-top benches and coast path walks nearby. Close behind is the food: reviewers single out the chips, a hearty breakfast, omelette, fish and chips, scampi, and a broccoli and stilton soup, with carrot and coriander as a tasty stand-in when it ran out. Several describe the staff as friendly and quick, and a few call the prices reasonable. Dogs are welcome, and one reviewer buys a puppachino for theirs. Gluten free options also get a mention. The main complaint comes from one holiday visitor who ordered cream teas and children's nuggets and chips just before the kitchen closed. They describe staff with miserable faces packing up early and felt unwelcome. Another reviewer found the inside crowded on a windy day. One reviewer says the cafe gives free breakfast on your birthday.

“We visited whilst on holiday and arrived just before 3. We were told the kitchen would close at 3 so we quickly ordered some cooked food for our children and cream teas for us. The chef was then heard saying who ordered chicken nuggets and chips at 5 to 3. We were made to feel unwelcome, staff were standing with miserable faces and were so eager to get home leave at 4 they were packing everything up. Don’t advertise being open to 4 as a cafe if you don’t want to be open or cook food for paying customers.”

“Excellent value for money breakfast, hearty portions and selection very good. Parking at nearby car park free (please add your name online to keep it that way!) A basic but clean cafe, views are lovely. Service was quick and friendly, definitely be visiting again. This cafe has had a few owners over the years, this appears to be the best.”
