Quick info
About The Watering Hole
The Watering Hole is a pub in Perranporth, standing directly on the beach at 19 St Pirans Rd. Benches sit outside on the sand, and a roof terrace upstairs looks out over the sea, so both outdoor spots face the ocean at sunset. The food menu runs to burgers and pizzas, and Rattler cider is on tap for drinkers. Football, F1 and rugby are shown on big screens, which gives the pub a use on match days as well as for a drink by the water.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return for the beach setting above all: benches with sand underfoot, sunsets over the sea, and the newer roof terrace, where one pair took breakfast and coffees upstairs. Food draws steady praise too, with the burger described as filling and good value, alongside nachos, seasoned fries and pizzas, and the Rattler on tap gets a mention. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and one reviewer notes highchairs, children's toys and a water jug at the bar.

“I absolutely love this place. We came on Friday and stayed for the cider and the view. Such an incredible bar. The staff are second to none. So friendly and helpful. Please please never change. A credit to Perranporth and Cornwall. If I could give more stars. I would.”

“Amazing food, came down on holiday and was not disappointed at all. They have something for the whole family including children's toys and suitable highchairs for little ones and a water fill jug at the bar. Really recommend you have a visit here.”

“The Watering Hole is a fantastic spot with a great atmosphere and unbeatable beach and sea views. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning, and it's lovely to relax on the benches right on the sand. There are plenty of food options to choose from (just keep an eye on the seagulls—they're always on the lookout!). The new terrace is really comfortable and makes a great place to enjoy the scenery. Drinks are on the expensive side, but you're paying for the unique location and views. Well worth a visit!”

“My favourite bar in the UK made entirely by the location and staff, each and every staff member are great honestly. Good is good and reasonable which offsets the slighty elevated drinks price but where else can you get a pint actually on the beach watching the sunset and tide next to your bench 😍”
- Ben Clark
“Brilliant and unique pub that is literally on the beach. If you sit on a bench outside, the sand is between your toes. Good selection of drinks however the prices this year are ridiculous. £7.50 for a Rattler, £7 for lager. I appreciate there’s a premium for the location but when pints are less than £5 in bars a short walk away in town, an additional 50% is a joke. Sadly, this has meant I’ve marked down one of my favourite ever pubs to 3 stars when just a few years ago it was 5 stars without question.”
