About The Treguth Inn
The Treguth Inn is a pub on Holywell Rd in Newquay, set in a thatched-roof inn building from the 13th century. Garden benches overlook the coast, and there is seating inside as well. The menu includes the Crab, Prawn & Prosecco Linguine and fish and chips, with catch-of-the-day white fish also on offer. Roast dinners are served both inside and out in the garden. Dogs are welcome, and the team keeps a water bowl and treats on hand for them.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the pasta, above all the Crab, Prawn & Prosecco Linguine, which one reviewer calls the best pasta dish they have ever ordered and another says their partner still talks about weeks later. Close behind are the catch-of-the-day white fish, fish and chips, a brisket panini and roast dinners in the garden, with several describing generous portions and friendly staff. The beer draws praise too, including a Sea Fury and a pint of Doombar. The thatched, 13th century building is called lovely and cozy. The praise is not universal. One family found the seafood chowder over salted and gloopy, the brisket burger like pulled beef from a packet, the batter on the fish and chips oily and the short rib fatty. Another diner found the roast lamb tough, the roast potatoes not properly roasted and the custard flavourless, and disliked the swearing from football audible outside. Several note how dog friendly it is, down to a water bowl and treats for one pup.

“I was put off from the start while sitting outside having drinks all I could hear was swearing at the football I found it a Very expensive Roast ,desert and two drinks almost £80 hubby beef was good he gave it a score of 6/7 I gave it a 5 roast potatoes not roasted properly not enough veg one piece of broccoli each and a tablespoon of swede mash and cabbage, gravy was delicious but not enough of it best bit massive Yorkshire pudding My Lamb was tough as old boots even the dog had to chew it I overheard a few of the other guests complaining too about the lamb they also feed it to their dog 😳it was like it was cooked and then reheated making it dry and hard to chew the deserts were good sticky toffee pudding and choc brownie the unfortunately the custard had no flavour like a packet mix which spoilt the deserts will we go back maybe as the menu did look good and like to give it another chance I might be biased as my husband is a chef 👨🍳”

“Pleasant meal with 2 young children. Good choice of food on menus for adults and children. Lovely old inn from 13th century. Family run. Staff welcoming and helpful. We would go back. Definitely give it a try! Good car park attached.”

“We are staying at Parkdean Resort Holywell bay and booked here for a meal the first night and very glad we did! The place is very dog friendly (own water bowl for our pup and treats available) The setting is an amazing with a thatched roof cottage and a coastal view from the garden benches outside. Food and drink is reasonably priced. The food was amazing, good portions and good fresh ingredients, I had the Crab, Prawn & Prosecco Linguine which is the best pasta dish I have ever ordered anywhere! We’ve been in twice already :)”

“I had the Seafood chowder, it was over salted thick and gloopy. Best thing was the bread that came with it. My husband had the brisket burger which was like pulled beef from a packet. My daughter had the fish and chips. Batter was oily, tartare sauce tasted of vinegar. My son had the short rib of beef which was fatty and lacking flavour. Such a shame as the inn is beautiful and in a lovely setting and the serving staff were nice but we wont be going back.”

“Second visit and it didn't disappoint. Love this pub. Real gem. Had roast dinners in the garden. Food was delicious. Staff were so friendly. Pub is very dog friendly. Plenty of parking. Good range of drinks and bar snacks. We did book ahead, as advised online. Will definitely be back.”
