Quick info
About Yeti (Oxford)
Yeti (Oxford) is a family-run Nepalese restaurant at 237 Cowley Rd in Oxford, serving Himalayan specialties in the evenings only. The menu includes patan masu, a lamb dish, and a Nepalese Platter, with momos among the starters. Indian staples sit alongside the Nepalese cooking, so a table can order from both traditions in one visit. The kitchen runs as a curry house, and the restaurant opens every day of the week, with no daytime service. Students can use a discount.

Customer Review Summary
Momos come up most often, with reviewers calling them fantastic and one saying they would return just to try more. Close behind are the chilli honey cauliflower, the Peshwari naan, the lekali chicken eaten with pilau rice and naan, and the lamb curry. Paneer dishes and tandoori chicken also draw praise, and the royal ghurka is described as a ton of meat. Portions are called generous, with one reviewer saying a single plate feeds two. The staff are described as friendly and happy to talk through recommendations. Reviewers also mention allergy and preference friendliness and a student discount. The one reservation comes from a reviewer who was not a fan of the lamb and chicken on the Nepalese Platter and would order only the momos instead. That reviewer also notes the patan masu lamb was ordered as something super spicy. Another reviewer says booking is usually not required for a small group but would be recommended for a larger one. Several mention starters or a dish on the house, and one describes a small piece of chocolate handed over before leaving.

“Food was absolutely delicious and one plate easily feeds two people. The staff are beyond courteous and gave us starters on the house! This and the student discount is just the cherry on top. Couldn't have stumbled into a better fine dining establishment as this is the only one that isn't pretentious and is really humble. -Sai and Lei”

“Amazing food and great dining experience. I've been here multiple times with various sizes of groups, and the staff has always been polite and the service splendid. Warm plates, mouthwatering lamb curry, momo, and Peshwari naan are my favourites but all foods are great and I've never been disappointed by an order. Booking is usually not required for a small group but would be recommended for a larger crowd. The environment is cosy and quiet. There is air conditioning as an added bonus.”

“The food could be half as good as it is and I would still come here for the amazing service alone. Fortunately for you, the food is great. The staff are genuinely so friendly, and if it isn’t busy they’ll usually give you a dish on the house. The momos are fantastic. The royal ghurka is a ton of meat. Get that with rice and you’re golden.”
